Question:
The video and specs say this is for a 800-1000 tongue weight trailer. Will it be ok with a cargo trailer with a weight around 300 to 400? We pull our 7x14 cargo Converted to a travel trailer and it has a tongue weight around 300-400. The Xterra has a max of 600 With my 2 battery and propane setup on the tongue I do not have room to snap chains in place, so this seems perfect!

The Curt Tru-Track Weight Distribution System you mentioned, part # C17500 is an excellent unit, but it works best on trailers with a fully loaded tongue weight that falls into the 800-1000 lb range. Since your trailer's tongue weight is so much less, there wouldn't be enough weight for the spring bars to work and you'd have a terrible ride.
You'd be better off using a similar product, the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System # RP66558, which is effective on trailers with tongue weights ranging from 400-600 lbs. The trailer frame brackets would need to bolt on to the frame member between 18-27 inches rearward of the center of the trailer ball. The brackets bolt on much like those of the Curt TruTrack. The # RP66558 includes the weight distributing shank, but you'll need the properly sized ball. For a 2 inch ball, use part # 63845 or # 63847 for a 2-5/16 inch ball.
