Will 2-Bike Bike Rack with Hitch Adapter Clear Bumper on 2013 Kia Sportage

Question:

I purchased and installed a Curt hitch on my 2013 Kia sportage. The the 2 bike rack I have is low when using the hitch purchased for w lifted Wrangler. I ordered a Roadmaster 070 Hi-Low to raisit up a bit. Will that fit past my bumper when ed in the hitch?

Most likely you will have plenty of bumper clearance when using a two-bike bike rack with your Kia Sportage, Curt hitch and Roadmaster adapter. But there is an easy measurement you can take to make sure. All you have to do is measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on the adapter straight back to the distance required to clear the rear bumper. If the distance that you come up with is less than the distance from center of the hitch pin hole to the upright bar of the carrier (or the nearest part of the rack that could be a fit issue ) then your bike rack will fit with no problem. Please note that when using any sort of adapter, that extends the weight of items farther away from the vehicle, the weight capacity of the lowest rated item is reduced by 50 percent.
