I have lost my key to my hitch mounted Yakima Bike Rack. How do I get the old lock off so I can replace it with a new one?

If you do not know the key number, your best alternative is to have a locksmith open the lock for you. I do not recommend trying to drill the lock out, as it is highly likely that the box would be damaged.
Once the lock is unlocked, you can use your control key to remove the lock core. If you no longer have the control key, we offer them as part # Y8007835. The key number will be engraved on the side of the lock cylinder. Once the key number is known, you can order a replacement key.
