Question:
Will this cargo carrier fit on the upper receiver of the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2inch Receiver for Bike Racks and Cargo Carriers - 7,500 lbs? I am looking at adding a lockable storage between my tow vehicle and boat. Would this set up work? how far would this stick out from the receiver want to ensure it wont interfere w/ my boat trailer? Is there a better option, maybe with a diamond plate tool box since it will be exposed to the elements. Thanks.

The upper receiver on the Curt multipurpose ball mount # D210 is rated for 350 pounds. The combined weight of the carrier and its contents cannot exceed that 350 pounds. Additionally, the entire ball mount has an overall capacity of 750 pounds tongue weight. So the combined weight of the trailers tongue weight, the carrier, and its contents cannot exceed 750 pounds.
So, for example, if you have exactly 350 pounds on the upper receiver you would be left with a maximum of 400 pounds for the trailer tongue weight.
The Yakima EXO weighs about 97 pounds and has a 100-pound capacity totaling approximately 200 pounds which is within the capacities of the D210 ball mount. It will measure approximately 35-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest back part of the box. This should not be a problem for a boat trailer. Unless it is a pontoon boat then that could limit the turning radius.
I don't see how the swinging feature of this rack will benefit you in this set-up. You could also look at the carpod # M2205-01-02. It weighs 54 pounds and is about 38 inches from the hitch pin hole.
I believe either of these are a good option for you based on what are trying to accomplish. The carpod would save you some money.
