Replacement Keys for a Yakima RocketBox Cargo Box

Hi there, Ive lost both sets of keys for a locked Rocket Box from Yakima. Ive been reading about a control key but I dont think my box came with one, just two keys for unlocking the box. What would be your suggestion for replacing the locks? thanks

You will need to look at the face of the lock on your RocketBox. There will be a number like A149. With that number I can tell you the correct replacement key.

The control key, # Y8007835, is used to install or remove locks and will only work to do that if the lock is unlocked.

If you did have lock A149 then the replacement key would be # Y8772-A149. The first part of the part number for any of the Yakima keys is Y8772- followed by the number, in this case A149.

@RolandoM I don't have a great solution for you but what you'll need to do is have a locksmith pick the lock core and get it unlocked so that you can then insert the control key part # Y8007835 and pull the core out and get the lock number that is on the side of the core.
