I have a 2009 Jayco Eagle with a landing gear motor problem and want to replace the gear box and motor. First can I remove the gearbox and motor with the unit up on the landing gear? Second separate pictures of the gearbox and the motor are attached for your information. Seems I can only upload 1 image? Can I buy replacements? Gear Box info: Part No. 125340 Volts: 12DC Full Load = 20 In Lbs RPM = 190 Amps - 6 RPM – 7140 Ratio – 35. 3:1 Duty Cyle – Int. Thanks for sending a picture.
Although it might be possible to remove the gearbox and motor while the landing gear is up and supporting weight, for safety reasons, I do not recommend doing so. In order to replace the gearbox and motor on your landing gear, you will need to use jack stands under the frame of your trailer and/or hook up the fifth wheel trailer to your truck for support.
