Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look at this Dometic Replacement Thermostat. This is going to replace a single zone thermostat for your Dometic RV air conditioner and this includes Bluetooth capabilities and a low profile design and a large LCD display screen. I'm just trying to pop this back off here so you can take a look at the inside. And this is going to complement your RV's interior with this black casing and this is going to be exactly like the one that you are needing to replace. It is directly from Dometic, so you can trust that it's going to fit right in place of the original. You're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that.
Just to give you further confidence that this is going to work for you, I'm gonna pull out my ruler here real quick, just give you some measurements. The overall width, we are sitting right at three and a quarter inches. That's going to be the same for the height as well, right at three and a quarter inches. And then the overall thickness, we are pretty close to an inch thick, overall. Now you are going to get two screws and also a user guide with this.

The reason I purchased this item was the original's display was to dim to read. The new replacement is a little better but not by much. Why does Dometic build thermostats that are so dim and difficult to read?
Sent me the wrong thermostat, not a bluetooth model.
I called as soon as I opened the box Saturday morning.
The guy said this part number 3316250.712 was the new
part number for the DMC79FR (which has Bluetooth)
I paid $[XX] for this item and received the above number
which sells for aprox. $[XX].
Just so you know this part is hard to find, I have looked!!
I think it is new to the market, price makes it special.
Also the enclosed paper work said nothing on how to pair with phone.
Final clue that this part is not bluetooth.

This tstat works as a replacement.
It was 3 days late getting here. The instructions wasn’t very easy to understand.
Fast shipping arrived when expected.
It was advertised as Bluetooth capable but Dometic says it has no app that will connect to it. Even without Bluetooth the performance is not satisfactory.
I want to return it for a full refund.
Product works great. We just returned from a trip and we had plenty of heat! So good!
This replaced my 2018 original Dometic thermostat which worked intermittently. The new one works perfectly. It comes with instructions and is an easy fifteen minute installation. I suggest turning off all electric power to thermostat to avoid damage to unit. With my trailer this involved unplugging trailer power cord and disconnecting battery.
My ac wouldn't turn off. This new thermostat corrected the issue.
The whole process went smoothly from order to receiving the item. As always etrailer came through

Unfortunately the thermostat didn't solve the issue. Wiring on a rv is a nightmare to trace but at least I have a spare thermostat.
It worked soon as it was installed.

Put the new one in and it does the same thing. The foam that are in the buttons in the cover pushes against the terminal and won’t let nothing work. I think the design of the foam in the buttons are causing all the problems. It needs to be redesigned. Thank you.

Thank you for your review LFW! The display on the Dometic thermostat is intentionally on the dim side due to its low-power design. It runs off the RV’s 12V control circuit and uses a basic LCD screen to keep things compatible and reliable across a wide range of Dometic systems. Because of that, the brightness is pretty limited compared to newer backlit thermostats, and it can look even dimmer if voltage is a little low or depending on the viewing angle. Unfortunately, what you’re seeing is pretty typical for this model. I wish I had a way for you to be able to brighten it up.
