  • Recommended Hitch for a 2023 Honda Pilot
To add a 2" hitch to your 2023 Honda Pilot, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e27KR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Pilot with included hardware. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a maximum tongue weight of 900 lbs so you will have no issues with capacity. I have linked an installation video below. Please note that the hitch fits with a mini spare tire stored under your Pilot, but does not fit with a full size spare. Also, the hitch may interfere with...

  • 2022 Acura MDX Hitch Receiver and Spare Tire Space
I will be happy to clear up the confusion for you. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C22HR you referenced and the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver item # DT42MR will only accommodate the 18" spare on your 2022 Acura MDX. These are the only two hitches available for your 2022 MDX and both have the same dimensions and limitations when it comes to room for your spare tire. The spare tire mounted on the 20" wheel will not fit. Both of these hitches are custom fit and bolt directly...

  • Why Is Curt Hitch for 2025 Honda Pilot Not Compatible With Vertical Hanging Bike Rack
Hi Anthony; the forces applied to the # C22HR hitch and the frame from a vertical hanging bike rack (bike racks that require the bicycles to be hung / mounted vertically) are different from your standard platform rack like the # HLY94FR or hanging bike rack. Curt runs their hitches through a lot of testing so I'm sure they found the stress from this rack style is too much for the hitch and/or vehicle frame.

  • Comparing Curt C22HR And etrailer e27KR Hitches For The 2025 Honda Pilot
Hello Chuck, thanks for reaching out. We do carry two hitches for the 2025 Honda Pilot, the Curt # C22HR and the etrailer # e27KR. Both hitches are structurally identical since our etrailer brand is actually manufactured by Curt. The only noteworthy difference is our etrailer hitch uses a matte black powder coating, while the Curt hitch is a gloss black. We went with the matte black because we found it is better at resisting scuffs, scratches and chips. It also usually blends better with...

  • Comparing etrailer and Curt Hitch for 2025 Honda Pilot
Hey Daniel! The etrailer # e27KR and Curt # C22HR look so similar because they share the same design. The only real difference between the two is the finish. I prefer our own etrailer finish which is a matte black. This gives it an OEM appearance and also helps hide dirt and scratches. If you prefer a glossy finish then the Curt is the way to go. Do you plan on towing? If so, you will also need wiring and a ball mount. If you want to add a 4-way you can use the Curt # C48ZV or for a 7-way...

  • Is Mounting Bracket Needed For Curt 4-Way on 2024 Honda Pilot
Thanks for the purchases Cathy, and the quick answer is nope, a mounting bracket is not needed at all for your 2024 Honda Pilot for the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C48ZV. Pretty simple reason why is the # C48ZV will actually mount right in the rear storage area/hatch of your '24 Pilot and you'll only take it out of there when you want to use the 4-way. I like the fact it stores in the hitch because the 4-way will stay cleaner and won't get...

I checked with our vendors and there are no custom fit wiring harnesses for the 2024 Honda Pilot's which means you will have to use one of the two universal options available. I have listed both of the below: Curt Powered Tail Light Converter w/ 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector and Install Kit item # C59496 - This harness requires you to use a circuit tester to find the correct wires to splice into. Once you have done this it will provide you with a 4-way connector that will allow you to control...

  • Recommended Hitch for a 2024 Honda Pilot
To add a hitch to your 2024 Honda Pilot, I recommend the etrailer item # e27KR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Honda with included hardware. I really like the etrailer hitch item # e27KR because it installs behind your rear bumper cover and can be completely hidden when you are not towing. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. It has a 6,000 lbs towing capacity and a 900 lbs maximum tongue weight. I have attached a couple of pictures below along with a an installation...

  • Does Curt Hitch for 2024 Honda Pilot Allow Hands Free Liftgate to Still Function
The Curt hitch part # C22HR that fits your 2024 Honda Pilot Elite can still allow your hands free liftgate to function but you would need to relocate the sensor and then kick to either side of the hitch opening. This is what our customers who bought this hitch have came back and told us worked.

To add a hitch to your 2023 Acura MDX, I recommend the etrailer Hitch item # e27KR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Acura with included hardware. I really like this hitch because the cross tube installs behind your rear bumper cover. This leaves only the 2" x 2" receiver visible. The matte black powder coat finish not only offers superior rust protection but it also helps to conceal the receiver below your bumper trim. The etrailer Hitch item # e27KR is made in the USA and...

  • Comparing Curt and etrailer Trailer Hitch Receivers For a 2023 Acura MDX
The only difference between the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C22HR and our etrailer Receiver # e27KR is the powder coat finish. They are both custom fit receivers manufactured by Curt for your 2023 Acura MDX. We selected Curt to manufacture our receivers based on their quality and having a made in the USA product. The Curt receiver has a gloss black finish while our etrailer receiver has a matte black finish. I personally feel the matte black looks better and give you a more factory appearance...

  • Will Curt Class III C22HR Hitch for 2022 Acura MDX Interfere with Hands-Free Liftgate Feature
Curt Manufacturing lists the # C22HR Class III hitch as a fit for all models of the 2022 Acura MDX. Installation will not require removing the bumper cover. If your spare tire is mounted to a wheel larger than 18 inches in diameter, the spare will no longer fit under the vehicle with the hitch installed. Curt doesn't have any specific information regarding interference with the hands-free liftgate feature, but what will typically happen is that the sensors will be blocked by the receiver...

  • Choosing the Best Trailer Hitch for a 2023 Acura MDX
The difference between the Draw-Tite # DT42MR and the etrailer # e27KR and Curt # C22HR trailer hitches for your 2023 Acura MDX is actually the amount of rear clearance as opposed to ground clearance. Ground clearance is the same between these hitches but the Draw-Tite juts out a little more with the design which is why there is some fascia trimming. Because of this I recommend going with the etrailer because it has the same design as the Curt (no fascia trimming) but it also has a matte...

  • What is the Best Hitch for a 2024 Acura MDX?
Yes, there is a hitch for your 2024 Acura MDX. The best one is going to be the etrailer Hitch item # e27KR. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Acura with included hardware. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. I really like this hitch because the main crosstube mounts behind your rear bumper leaving only the 2" receiver visible. • Draw-Tite or Curt Hitch Receiver for 2022 Acura MDX
I would be happy to help you. The difference in the installation time between the two hitch receiver's on your 2022 Acura MDX is that the Curt item # C22HR sits lower when mounted so it does not requiring trimming of the rear bumper cover. The Draw-TIte item # DT42MR sits higher after installation which requires you to cut a 4" x 3.5" section of your rear bumper cover out. • Does the etrailer Hitch Require Trimming When Installed on a 2024 Honda Pilot?
No, it does not. The etrailer Hitch item # e27KR bolts to the bottom of the frame on the 2024 Honda Pilots so you don't have to cut into anything. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver. I have linked an installation video below along with the instructions so you can see the process of getting this hitch set up. • Will etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Require Cutting or Trimming on 2023 Honda Pilot Touring
Installation of the etrailer # e27KR does not require any cutting of the bumper or purchasing a special panel. The receiver hangs down below the bottom of the bumper. The same is true for the Curt # C22HR you looked at. The two are identical, but I would choose the etrailer hitch for the matte black finish over the glossy finish on the Curt. Also keep in mind, if you have a full size spare stowed under the vehicle the hitch will not fit without relocating the tire. If you have a mini...

We've received conflicting reports regarding whether or not the Curt # C22HR or the Draw-Tite # DT42MR interferes with the hands free liftgate feature of the 2022 Acura MDX. We've had some state that the hitch partially interferes with the sensors, but if the user waves their foot to the right or left of the receiver tube by about 12 inches and a few inches deeper under the vehicle, in most cases the sensors will read the movement and the rear hatch will open.
