Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter for your two inch hitch. This adapter is going to slide into your two inch hitch receiver and give you a second two inch receiver hitch when towing a trailer or flat towing your vehicle. You're gonna be able to use one receiver for your trailer or dinghy and use the other one for a cargo carrier or bike rack. Now this does have a gross towing weight of 10,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 400 pounds and this is going to give you a drop of 10 inches.

And let me go ahead and just confirm that with you here with my ruler. So I'm gonna be measuring from the top of one receiver to the top of our other one there. So let me try to line that up there just so you can see. So measuring top to top, as you can see, you're gonna get a drop of 10 inches. And then another measurement that I thought might be helpful for you is measuring on center, the distance between our hitch pin holes.

So it might be a little bit tricky there for you to see, but on center, looks like we're sitting right at about 10 and a half inches. And then measuring our rear hitch pin hole on center all the way to the end of our shank, it looks like we're sitting right at two inches. Now this is made here in the USA. It's constructed of solid steel and this does have a durable powder coat finish that's going to hold up really well against rust and corrosion. And this does not include a pin and clip or a hitch lock.

So if you don't already have a compatible hitch lock or pin or clip, that would be an additional item that you would have to pick up. And this does have a limited lifetime warranty from Roadmaster. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy.

Thank you for joining me.

  • Comparing Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapters RM23SR And RM-077-10
Hello Michael, thanks for reaching out. The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapters # RM23SR and # RM-077-10 both have 10" between both receivers and they are both rated or 10,000 lbs. The only noteworthy difference is the placement of the receivers. The # RM23SR adapter has the top receiver even with the shank, and the bottom receiver is 10" below. The # RM-077-10 adapter has the same 10" receiver spacing, only the top receiver is positioned on top of the shank. So the bottom receiver...

  • Can Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter be Used to Flat Tow & Carry Bikes/Kayaks
Hi Jack, The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM23SR was designed to do exactly what mentioned - flat tow while also using a rack or cargo carrier of some kind. That said, it's important to note the # RM23SR has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity. That isn't an issue with flat towing, as there is very little tongue weight (mostly the weight of the tow bar) due to the vehicle supporting itself on all four wheels, but your loaded kayak and bike carrier need to be under the tongue...

  • Safety Cable Extensions Needed For Flat Towing With Dual Hitch Receiver # RM23SR
Hey Gary, You'll just need some quick link/safety cable extensions. These can easily be added on while using the # RM23SR and then removed when not. We offer a few different lengths to choose from: 8" cables # RM-910648-8 10" cables # RM-910648-10 12" cables # RM-910648-12 20" cables # RM-910648-20

  • Can you Tow a Trailer and Use Winch With the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter
Hey Josiah no, the winch would not be affecting the tongue weight. The tongue weight is the downward force on the receiver tube so since the winch would be pulling that would be counted towards the gross towing weight. The 10,000 lb capacity for the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM23SR is for the entire thing, so if you're pulling a 10,000 lb trailer you wouldn't also be able to use your winch since it'd be over capacity. I'd instead recommend mounting the winch to the trailer...
