Getting trailer lights working doesn’t have to mean cutting or splicing wires. This Curt T-Connector plugs directly into the factory wiring behind the trim panel, giving you a 4-pole flat connector for your trailer lights. Everything fits where it should, so the install stays clean and reliable with no guesswork.
The harness includes a powered converter that uses a 12-gauge hot lead run to the battery. That setup keeps the trailer load off your vehicle’s sensitive lighting circuits, protecting them from overload and signal errors. It’s a smart design that ensures the trailer lights work right every time you hook up.
This setup hides neatly behind the interior trim panel. Once installed, the wiring stays protected from damage and out of sight when not in use. The connectors match factory plugs behind the panel, so it looks like it came built into the vehicle from day one.
The 4-flat connector covers running lights, turn signals, and brake lights—everything you need for small to mid-size trailers. It’s a common connection type that works with most trailer wiring adapters if you want to add a 7-way down the road.

When routing the power wire, avoid the exhaust, sharp edges, and any moving parts. Use wire ties to secure the wire out of the way. The hot lead must be run directly to the vehicle battery.

Great instructions. Easy install. Everything worked great!
Hitch and wiring I purchased with it arrived promptly and have been applied to my car so I can now use a low mounting bike rack. (I no longer have to lift bikes above my shoulders to transport them.) I can use a small trailer to haul 4 kayaks/bikes when enjoying outdoors with friends or haul necessary project items like bags of mulch. All lights on trailer working appropriately with this wiring.
Great product, easy to install, great instructions.
très facile a installer avec votre vidéo.
The harness has worked properly without problems. The only thing I don't like is the fact that a wire has to be run the entire length of the car to draw power from the battery. While the connectors and wiring in the rest of the kit were of good quality and well thought out, the wire to the battery was just a coil of wire, a hand full of zip ties, and a "you figure it out" on the instruction sheet.
Excellent service, quick shipping! Item as described.
Ordering a delivery was great, product is exactly what I was looking for. Would by from etrailer again.
Looks like everything’s there, looking forward to putting it on the vehicle but the last time I ordered this harness it was right on the money and it’s essentially the same car so I’m not expecting any problems.
Excellent design and materials. Fast sh ipping.
The wiring harness worked like a charm! Everything worked as advertised.
Excellent fit. This kit seems updated as the hardware was a little different than the video, but I think adapted for that muffler issue. I installed in about an hour not including watching the video.
Worked great.
Just wish the cables from the box to the light connections were a little longer.

Great service and fast turn around!
great product even better customer service from etrailer!
The harness was fine, the service, not so much. With normal shipping, it was to arrive Saturday. I paid extra to ensure it arrived Friday as I was moving my daughter and needed this for the trailer. It arrived Monday evening. Clearly unacceptable.
I revieved my package and everything looks good just have to install it. Love ordering from here. I ordered my hitch from here and it got here quick just like the wiring. will definately keep ordering from you when need too
This took me about 2 hours to install. It was difficult to get under the car and route the wiring around the moving parts to the battery. Be patient and allow plenty of time. I did not have access to a car lift. That would have made it much easier.
As with every order we have made with etrailer, must say excellent, from the customer assistance to the actual products. The trailer hitch for my friends Honda is perfect. Thanks this is the way all companies should be.
Exactly what it says it is - easy enough to install, works as promised.
Maybe consider offering a version of this which includes the $5 tester, and a small tube of dielectric grease? That would permit folks to install without making a 'parts / supplies' run in the middle of the installation.
This works great once installed. However, the green wire going to the passenger side from the module is not long enough and I had to splice in some extra wire to extend it. Additionally, there should have been some heat shrink in the kit for the power wire fuse connector that goes under the hood. For the price, I expected to not have to splice wires and not have to use anything additional for installation.
I've never installed a hitch or wiring before and was kind of intimidated to install it.
This was by far the easiest hardest thing I've done to a car. I'd rate the difficulty level as changing a flat tire on the side of the road.
I installed this at night using a flashlight, by myself.
Equipment:
The hitch came in a box and included all the hardware necessary to install. I didn't need any special tools (you could use a torque if you wanted to too, but I used a pry bar and cracked it down).
The wiring was the most annoying part as I had to run the power up to the battery, the annoying part was the driveway was wet from rain. (Oh I would suggest a different wiring coupler, twist-on couplers aren't great)
Price: The price of the hitch receiver and wiring, was pretty great for the quality of product I received.
I got everything installed and tested and had no issues with lights etc.
Instructions:
The hitch and wiring came with instructions, however these should be improved. The layout of the instructions were messy and difficult to follow. Additional diagrams for each step would be helpful.
Company Experience:
My experience with the company was great. I placed my order online, had an issue with billing address (my fault) and they reached out immediately with remedial actions. I placed a new order and received confirmation along each step of the order to shipping to it being delivered. That's good customer service (even if it is automated or not).
Overall:
Everything was pretty smooth, the quality of product versus price was great, delivery was quick. I would certainly do business with etrailer again.

When installing a trailer hitch, it is important to make sure to use a torque wrench to torque the bolts down to the specifications stated in the instructions to ensure the hitchs integrity.
Your installation video was great the harness went on perfectly . Routing the power line was challenging because I did not have a lift but all worked out fine . The factory connections are the way to go.

Now that the hard stuff is out of the way, you can get to towing! Going to be towing anything fun, Jim?
Perfect match for the vehicle. One of the few times that it wasn’t replaced with a universal unit where cutting and splicing was required. Installing it from the ground took a little longer but relatively easy to run the wire from the battery to the rear hook up. Price was very fair - surprised that I could get a direct replacement for this value. My elder friend who is 80 years old, installed the receiver and the wiring kit. Said the installation was relatively easy compared to other hitches.
Easy to install and works with our 2008 Honda HRV when pulling the kayak trailer.

Been working great but just realized I put 2008 but should have said 2018 HRV

Years ago, the car manufacturers used wire of sufficient gauge that the additional power needed for trailer lighting was drawn through the vehicles taillight circuits without issue. As the complexity of vehicle wiring systems and the price of copper increased, smaller gauge wire started being used. The result of this is that the power needed for trailer lights now must be drawn directly from the vehicle battery. This does indeed make for a more complicated installation, but this manner of connection has the huge benefit of keeping the complicated and expensive to repair vehicle lighting isolated from the trailer wiring. As trailer wiring is more exposed to road hazards, this is a good thing.
