Installation Of Curt Trailer Wiring Harness On 2016 Honda HR-V
Published 06/30/2016 >
Question:
Vehicle Wiring C56284. your video is useless for detailed installation. Not one word about how to remove the rear panels where I assume the connector hook up to the tail lights. And nothing about how to route the wire to the battery. My package had no instructions at all. On your web site the very small pictures which cant be enlarged are too small to help. Again, no detailed instructions about wiring other than connect this wire to xxxx but where are these wires on the car?

I am sorry the instructions were not in the package you received with the Curt wiring harness, part # C56284. I have linked the installation instructions you can check out.
As far as the trim panel, in the instructions and in the tools needed a trim panel removal tool is listed. We do offer those in a kit as a separate item. The kit is part # ALL647989. Step 4 describes how to remove the trim panel at the back of your vehicle. I talked to one of our installers and they told me the panel in step 3 and step 4 are the fasteners you may need the tool for. When routing the power wire you need to avoid the exhaust, sharp edges and any moving parts. You can use wire ties along the way to make sure the wire is secured out of the way. Step 4 and 5 in the instructions describe the vehicle wiring that has the connectors behind the trim panel and how to separate them and install the Curt harness connectors.
