Wow! Thank you, Tyler! So happy to hear that. :) Is this a photo from a recent excursion?

Chevrolet

The hitch arrived as expected via UPS ground. Opened the Box to verify all parts and hardware were included. All was good! I removed the spare tire from the underside cradle. Removed the existing 10k/7500 hitch.
The new hitch, I fit loosely with the bolts/spacer/nuts the two side sections. Then installed the center piece with the 8 bolt/nut combination. I used a 2x4 to keep the side panels as wide as possible to reinstall the spare tire. Torqued all the nuts to 110lbs and the 12mm to 80lbs. Removed the 2x4 and reinstalled the spare tire and fit perfectly.

My truck is an 89 Chevy K2500 with 350 V8. I did not need to lift the truck. All fit well. The longest was the torquing steps to get to maximum.

Great Buy and perfect for my new Iron bull 10K trailer..

The product is excellent..although the one dog ear was bent..but hubby fixed it Damaged probably in shipping..We bolted it right it right up. Perfect fit on our Old 94 Dually Silverado

Nice hitch, install was a breeze. Significantly beefier than the one it replaced. Shipping was almost unbelievably fast, ordered Tuesday evening and it arrived Thursday.

by:

I just opened up my new Class 5 Curt XD hitch and have not yet installed it so my comments are based on first impressions only. It is very heavy duty - and heavy at 40 lbs. - made of extremely thick metal and outfitted with quality Grade 8 bolts with square necks so they won’t turn when torquing on the nuts to attach the main tube to the side mounting plates. My bolts are plated yellow (which I like) rather than silver as you may have seen in some online photographs. It is substantially beefier than my existing Grade 4 hitch and superior in every way. It’s an impressive piece of hardware. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with it on specifications, quality, strength, and general appearance. It’s a beast. What I AM disappointed in is Curt’s packaging and the condition in which the hitch arrived. (This is NOT a reflection on etrailer.com as the hitch arrived in Curt’s original packaging.) The unassembled main tube and the two side mounting plates come bundled together with nothing separating them but shrink wrap. No cardboard, plastic, even paper coming between the metal surfaces - just shrinkwrap probably not even a couple of mils thick. With basically metal-to-metal contact in an oversized-box with the bundle jostling around, it would be a miracle if there were no scratches, gouges, or some type of damage to at least one piece, which is exactly what happened to my hitch. The main hitch tube, on the exterior facing plane, on the driver side where I’ll see it every day, has some gouges on it that go through the powder-coating to bare metal. I can - and will - paint them to prevent rust (and, therefore, have to paint the whole hitch to match). But the gouges will still be noticeable as they go through the thicker, pebbly, powder-coat finish and will undoubtedly still appear as depressions in the surface even once painted. I fully realize this kind of surface damage will almost certainly happen with regular usage of the hitch anyway and that it’s certifiable to demand absolute perfection in anything. But if you are someone who cares about the aesthetics of your equipment and keeping it looking new for as long as possible, it is very disappointing to receive such an expensive and prominent piece of hardware damaged right out of the box and requiring immediate repainting. The plastic parts bag had also ripped open in transit, with nuts, bolts, shims, etc. rattling around in the box. I am dumbfounded that Curt packages such a high-quality piece of equipment so shoddily where such damage is virtually unavoidable. I bought from Curt solely due to their being an American manufacturer and to support American workers so this is doubly discouraging. It’s a trivial complaint in the big scheme of things and not worth demanding a replacement over. Just be aware that unless Curt changes their packaging practices it is very possible you will have the wind taken out of your towing project sails just as I have. Again, this in no way reflects on etrailer. My experience to date with etrailer (website, educational resources, staff reviews, ordering, tracking, email contact, etc.) has been beyond exemplary in every way. They rank as a Top Five online retailer in my opinion, maybe even the best.

A year out I couldn’t be more pleased with this Curt Class V XD hitch apart from the gouges and scratches that occurred in shipping. It is beefy, heavy, and stout. Quality is top notch. It is likely more than I need, but I rest easy knowing that it is surely enough for my purposes occasionally towing a double-axle 18-foot trailer loaded with topsoil or mulch. Unless anything has changed with this hitch over the past year, I can recommend it without reservation. And I hope Curt has improved upon their packaging to minimize the kind of in-transit damage I experienced.

by:
1992 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

The hitch has worked as expected, doing it's job well. My only complaint is that when I received it, the finish had flaked off on both side upright panels down to bare metal. I threw some black paint on it to cover it but it still rusted through and looks gross. I could be mistaken, but I thought these were powder coated. Anyway, it's still a great hitch that pulls my landscape trailers snowmobile trailer car hauler and camper with confidence! Thank You. P.S. The truck has been painted since install.

by:
1996 GMC Sierra

The hitch arrived three days after ordering and in perfect condition. I installed it on a 1996 GMC Sierra 2500HD and installation was a breeze. It took around 30 minutes and I did not have to move/lower the spare tire to install the hitch. Very happy with the entire process!

by:
1998 GMC C/K Series Pickup

I'm very pleased with this Trailer hitch. Its super beefy and will do everything I need it to and more. It bolted right up to my 1998 GMC sierra. It doesn't come out past the bumper and fits nicely in place. There was one spot on the powder coating that had been scraped off, but I assume that was during shipping and it wasn't a big enough deal for me to be worried. One installation note though (applying to 88-98 GM trucks), my taillights were grounded to the frame next to the left side center bolt, so I needed to drill a new hole and ground them further towards the front of the vehicle (pictured below), which, again, wasn't a real issue for me, but I'm assuming others could run into that, and Id like to let them know. Great product, great website!

by:

Originally, I ordered this for my pickup, it arrived, and hardware was falling out of the box, I took pictures, and sent the Customer support team an email, within not even two days, they replied, and told me they would send out the replacement hardware package, the hitch was just what I needed, and the Proper hardware arrived, i did NOT have to remove the bumper to install the hitch, I removed the bumper to re paint, all around very nice product, fit my 1993 Chevy C2500

by:
1997 GMC C/K Series Pickup

Great looking hitch receiver. Mounted on my 97 3500 dually long bed. Looks good and beefy. Installed by myself in about 20 minutes. Was a little unsure about curt at first being that my father in law bought an adjustable universal fit one for hit 3500 express van that flexed under just the weight of car trailer by itself. Haven’t hauled with this one yet but I don’t think itl move at all. Worth they money for the bearer actual fit hitch instead of a universal.

by:

The hitch is very rugged built. But the packaging was not. It's not your fault, but it arrived with the box ripped open and the hardware bag also open. There was 2 bolts and 1 nut missing. I have bolts I can use to put it together.

When installing thought I had been given the wrong hitch because the hitch was wider than my frame rails. Realized my fram rails needed seperated. Put a high jack inbetween to spread it, installed hitch and now its firm once again.

by:

The build quality is great, and the install was super easy. Unfortunately the packing list ended up being a shopping list because of UPS’s poor handling, the box was falling apart and most of the fasteners were missing from what was left of the bag.

by:

1990 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

Very heavy duty construction. Holes lined up with truck frame perfectly. The hardest part of the install was getting the old junk receiver off. Very pleased with product. A great heavy duty hitch at a very reasonable price. I own a 12500 GVW trailer used to haul tractors, cars, and other misc. items. I feel much safer towing with this heavy duty hitch.

by:
1992 GMC C2500

Well built! I especially like the way the receiver is gusseted from both the top and bottom. I haul a 7000lb+ tractor and a 28ft camper the bumper hitch on my flatbed was flexing under the tongue weight. This hitch is solid! The instructions could be a little more clear about which bolts go where, and a left and right sticker on the side plates wouldn't have hurt. My truck (a 1992 GMC C2500 2WD) didn't have the weld nuts described in the directions. It only took 30 minutes or so to install.

1989 Chevrolet C/K Series Pickup

What a great experience. My wife, daughter and I were able to install this trailer hitch in about 2 hours. We would have cut that time in half, except the previous owner had a custom exhaust installed on the truck and they placed the supports right where the trailer hitch was supposed to bolt on. other than that everything went well. I would highly recommend etrailer for any hitch needs.
