Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located along the frame rail at the rear of your vehicle. The exact location of the port will vary depending on the make, model, and year of your vehicle. Once you've plugged in the connectors, insert the included fuse into the in-line fuse holder.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

It does not appear to have been designed for a bracket mount. I had to force fit and secure in place with a zip tie.
etrailer customer service are very responsive, and products always seem to perform reliably. The main reason that I give "poor" rating is to bring awareness that this wiring harness is not compatible with the 2022 Sorento XLine-SX Prestige trim level. For this vehicle, I discovered that I had to order a Curt 56420, which did plug directly into the factory wire harness. (FYI, the [online] price was $XX cheaper than the etrailer price for it.) Also, be aware that the wiring harness plug location is mounted on the outside of the panel shown in the directions for this wiring harness. I recommend removing the large plastic panel under the driver side (as described in the direction for this harness), and also removing two screws and three plastic trim clips from the rear wheel well liner so that access can be gained easily to the wire harness. You can use a pair of pliers to squeeze the wire harness attachment location under the plastic panel removed under the vehicle, and then it is easily accessed from the wheel well. Sorry that I didn't take a few pics to share during this procedure, but the install is pretty simple after you pull the wheel well liner back.
Superbe connection, très facile à installer , juste â raccoder 2 prise et le travail est fait Vraiment simple comme installation
[Superb connection, very easy to install, just connect 2 sockets and the job is done Really simple installation]
Haven't really used the towing package, but I accidentally ordered the wrong harness (didn't know my Kia was already wired to the back), and etrailer exchanged for the right product with no fuss at all.
Was ordering a tow hitch for corolla, after I pick the hitch, this comes up as suggested with the hitch. Only when the order comes and u read the info. The wiring is not for corolla's. etrailer adds return fee and now correct wiring is full price. Usually a trailer is better than this.
Plug and play on my 17 Hyundai Santa Fe. I dont know if I have ever had an easier plug install
Easy install! This wiring harness makes for a quick and easy install, compared to the the regular wire locating and splicing. Thanks for making it so easy!
Perfect fit. High quality material. Wiring was easy with instructions. Best place to buy hitches and wiring.
Awesome product, plug and play. It worked awesome, got it really fast and the price was really reasonable.
Purchased this for our 2016 Kia Sorento So we could tow a pop-up camper. Installed easily to factory tow package wiring while following etrailer instructions and videos. Eventually added ETBC7L to convert it from 4-way to 7-way electrical.
Fast shipping, easy install and great value.
This is my second install with etrailer and intact huge fan
Easy plug in for pre-wired 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe limited. The routing through the back side of the rear bumper was slightly difficult but I chalk it up to being 70 years old. Excellent service all the way around. I would recommend etrailer. Thanks
Great experience from start to finish. Quick delivery. Perfect fit and easy to install within 30 minutes. Routing the wire harness was a bit challenging but it also was a perfect fit. I only have one picture but you can't see the hitch since it is behind the center panel which is exactly what I wanted.
While it did take longer than the suggested time to complete on my own, I was able to do it myself nonetheless. The price was great, looks fairly good on the van, and functions exactly as hoped. YouTube helped a lot. Was glad I watch several different installations all the way through before attempting on my own.
Plug and play harness!
I recently bought the Curt receiver (p/n C13153) and Tekonsha 4-pin harness (p/n 118269) for use on our new 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited Ultimate. We use the hitch to tow a small utility trailer occasionally, and more often use it with a hitch-mounted bike rack. I also ordered a mounting bracket kit and companion adapter plate since I had hoped to have the 4-pin connector mounted to the hitch (v. just zip-tied, etc). For installation of the receiver I dropped the spare tire since it is easy and helps for maneuvering the receiver into place. I did not lower the exhaust. I cleaned the tapped holes in the frame with a spray lube and wire brush prior to mounting, and I think this is a necessary step since a couple of the holes were pretty gunked-up. I checked by running the M10 screws in prior to putting the hitch in place, which I also recommend. I did not have a 2nd person available to help put the receiver in place to install but I had success using a floor jack and a piece of 2x6 to lift the receiver into place and start all the screws. It took a little patience to maneuver past the exhaust but really the fitment of the hitch is very good and it wasn't a bad struggle. A helper is probably the best way to go. As others have said, the videos provided by etrailer.com are really helpful. I finished the hitch installation by torqueing the screws and installing and torqueing the carriage bolts. It is a bit of a job (at least for me) to get the proper torque for the carriage bolts when laying on my back like that, but the overall connection seems super-secure. The spare tire did not interfere with the receiver after installation, though as you'd expect the clearance is small. After the receiver was done I installed the wiring harness. Once again, the video was really helpful and everything went quite smoothly. I found I needed to supply a few of my own zip-ties to secure the wiring to both the hitch and the factory wiring bundle since the provided ones were too short. After this I attempted to mount the 4-pin mounting plate to the hitch but I could not find an orientation that I was happy with and which would not interfere with the removable trim cover for the hitch. On the other hand, I found I was satisfied with leaving the 4-pin connector hooked to the check-chain hole in the receiver, so that is how I will leave it. After finishing the installation I hooked up our trailer. I found that there is a good amount of space in the check-chain openings, at least for our trailer, and the wiring connection (trailer lights) worked perfectly. When I went to install our bike rack I was a little concerned about the space around the hitch hole for the head of the bolt, but when I installed the hitch and anti-rattle bolt the fit was fine. Overall I'm quite happy with the hitch and wiring harness and I'm looking forward to many years of use. As always, etrailer.com was great to deal with and I would always recommend them to anyone looking for towing equipment and accessories.
The package arrived on time and with all the parts included. I have installed the harness and tested OK.
The only thing that would improve my experience would be to have installation video for Hyundai Santa Fe XL, which is quite different than installation on Santa Fe Sport shown in your video.
The Wiring Harness was perfect. It made the electrical portion of installing a trailer hitch easy. It worked as advertised and the instructions were clear and easy to follow.
I installed this on my vehicle one year ago. Installation was easy, and the product works as it should with no problems.
I received my hitch but did not get the wiring harness that I ordered for my vehicle. The box had a hole in it so its probably a shipping issue and not a etrailer issue. I have been in contact with Hannah at etrailer and she has another wiring harness otw. Great customer relations and good company to purchase from.
The T-one wiring connector doesn't fit my 11/2014 KIA Sorento w/o factory tow
part number 118269
Plug and Play on my 2014 Kia Sorento. Plugs right in to the factory pre-wired harness plugs located under a cover behind the left rear wheel. Mounted the electronic box underneath also with a little silicon adhesive on the back. Easy install. Cable tied the rest of the wiring in the bundle as you can see.
Fast easy ordering and shipping as always. It's nice to click on the link in the email they send and go right to the tracking page with the map that shows progress and the details as well. Some sites make you log in again for the same information. Not a big deal, but as you know it's the summation of all the little things done well that make for a good purchase experience.
This would be great if my car had a tow package installed. I had no way of knowing until I removed a panel under the vehicle. I believe this should have explained better when I ordered this part. I also think the cost of returning this part is excessive
I honestly never used it. The place that installed the trailer hitch wasn't supposed to install the harness and did so the one I bought from you never got used.
One year later and it's still going strong. Rubber on the connector is still in great shape.
