RV Water Pump for Inline Booster Use
Spend more time relaxing and less time wrestling with funnels—an inline booster pump makes moving water from a five gallon jug into your fresh tank simple, even when the spigot has no hose hookup. Use it for short, intermittent transfer jobs around camp or on a boat, and note that drawing up from a container may require priming unless the pump is submerged. If you're trying to raise pressure across the entire RV on city water, this type of pump isn't the answer.
Only if the pump is submerged; otherwise it requires priming. With a short hose from a water container, plan to prime the line if the pump sits dry. Check your setup so the inlet stays below the waterline or be ready to prime before use.
Yes, hot water can be pumped, but keep it under 140°F and above 0°F. Verify your water temperature before running the pump. If water is warmer than 140°F or below 0°F, avoid operation to protect the pump.
Match the pump's fitting to your hose's inner diameter. Some pumps are designed to fit a hose with an inner diameter of 13 mm. Measure the hose ID and keep the intake hose short to help the pump draw from a container.
Not if the pump is designed for short intermittent use. To increase pressure throughout the RV, use a higher GPM and PSI rated water pump and/or an accumulator tank. If you're on city water at the campground, a pump wouldn't help; install an accumulator tank and place it closer to the point of use like the shower.
