For installation, choose a sealant compatible with the skylight material; many installers pair butyl tape under fasteners with lap sealant on top.
Use the sealant provided if it's included, or use butyl tape under screw holes and seal the top with lap sealant. Do not use self-leveling sealant on polycarbonate domes, as it can cause cracks. Inspect pre-drilled holes for melted plastic residue and trim smooth for a good seal. Remove old sealant with heat and don't over-tighten screws.
