RV Sinks with single undermount for roomy washing
Want more space for dishes? A single sink makes it easier to handle larger pots than a split basin. An undermount gives a clean look, but be sure your countertop and seal are solid; faucet holes are typically in the counter, not the sink. Confirm overall and bowl dimensions—and flange width—for your cutout. Some undermounts use L-brackets with wing nuts, while others can be set as a drop-in with silicone.
Yes, some undermount single sinks can be installed as a drop-in using silicone sealant and weight while it cures. Make sure the sink fits the opening without movement; shims can help. If your sink has threaded studs, slip L-brackets over the studs and tighten the wing nuts in a clockwise rotation. The studs are typically not removed.
Measure the existing cutout and the overall and bowl dimensions of the undermount single sink you're considering. Check whether your countertop corners are radius or square; some swaps need the back corners squared. Plan faucet and accessory holes in the countertop, since many undermount single sinks don't include faucet holes.
Tighten any L-brackets and wing nuts gradually in a clockwise pattern and check that the threads engage smoothly. Be gentle with threaded pems; they're not too strong. Expect possible plumbing tweaks if the new bowl is deeper. If replacing a sink with radius corners, you may need to square the corners of the cutout.
A single bowl can make larger dishes and pots easier to handle compared to a shallow double. Confirm the bowl depth works with your plumbing and cabinet space. If the new sink is deeper, plan for minor drain or trap adjustments.
