Set the RV level first, then mount the level. Pick a flat, plumb spot you can see from the truck or mirror to cut down on cab in-and-out. Lapped aluminum or angled siding can throw things off, so use a bracket or shim if the surface isn't flat. If readings seem off or too touchy, recheck alignment and mounting surface.
