Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV we're going to do a test fit on the Yakima FullTilt. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack they've designed it for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. The part number on it is Y02462. Now we also have this available in a 5-bike version if you'd prefer. That part number is Y02463. Now to begin our test fit we're just going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As you can see, you will want to help guide the silver portion in; that's the anti-rattle device.



Swagman Titan Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit on the Swagman Titan. Now this is a folding, tilting 4-bike rack. It's been designed for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. The part number on it is S63410. To begin our test fit we slide the shank of our rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up our threaded pinhole with our hitch pinhole. With those in line we can take our standard anti-rattle bolt, which is provided, and we're going to thread this through.



Softride Dura Parallelogram Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit on the Softride Dura Parallelogram. This is a tilting-style 4-bike rack. It's begin designed for use with 2" hitches as well as 1-1/4". The part number on it is SR26247. The Dura Parallelogram has two threaded holes located on the passenger side. For today's test fit I'm going to be using that first hole. I'll want to begin by placing the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch.



Saris Thelma Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit of the Saris Thelma. This is a platform-style folding 3-bike rack. They've designed it so you can use it with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. The part number on it is SA4239B. Now to begin our test fit we're just going to slide the shank of the rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. We need to line up our threaded hole with our hitch pinhole. Those in line, we'll have a anti-rattle bolt; we'll need to thread this through until we have it hand tight.



Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV we're going to be doing a test fit on the Saris Freedom Superclamp. This is a platform-style 2-bike. Been designed to hold the bike onto the rack with no frame contact at all. It's been designed also for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. The part number on it is SA4025. To begin the test fit we're just going to slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We're then going to line up our threaded hole with our hitch pinhole.

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV, we're going to be doing a test on the Saris Freedom. This is a platform style four bike, folding and tilting rack. It's been designed for use with 2" hitches. It's part number is SA4414B. Now to begin the test fit, we're just going to slide the shank of the Freedom right into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do this we'll line up our threaded hole with our hitch pin hole. As we have those lined up we'll take our provided anti-rattle bolt.

Today on our 2011 Honda CR-V we're going to do a test fit on the Saris Bike Porter. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack. They designed it so we can use it with inch and a quarter or 2-inch hitches. The part number on it is SA404B. This also comes in a 2-bike version if you'd prefer that. The part number on that is SA402B. To begin our test fit, we'll just slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch.



Saris Axis Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CR-V, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Saris Axis. This is a folding and tilting 2 bike rack. It's been designed for use with inch and 1/4 or 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is SA832. Now, we can also get this in the 3 bike version, that's SA833B, or in a 4 bike, as part number SA834B. To begin our test fit, we slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. We'll then line up our threaded hole with our hitch pin hole.



Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Kuat NV. This is a platform style, folding and tilting, four bike rack. They've designed for use in 2 inch hitches. The part number on it is N105-107. This is also available in a gunmetal gray and orange. It's part number N101-103. To begin our test fit, we just slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch.



Thule Vertex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4-bike carrier for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch. Line up the hitch pinhole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, and tighten with a wrench. Now we'll go ahead and go over some clearance measurements. We have about 15" of ground clearance here at the rear of the carrier. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of the vehicle is about 3". When the cradle arms are in the folded position we've added about 12" to the overall length of our vehicle. Now we'll go ahead and pull the lever at the base of the carrier to allow our carrier to tilt.



Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV well be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero two bike carrier for one and a quarter inch and two inch hitches, part number TH9042. To begin our test fit well slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of our hitch, allow the pin to fall in place and use the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now well go ahead and go over some clearance measurements. At the back of the bike rack we have about 16 inches of ground clearance. The closest point of the carrier to the rear of the vehicle is about four inches. With the bike carrier in the folded position weve added about 18 inches to the overall length of our vehicle.



Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV, we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier for one and a quarter inch and two inch hitches, part number TH9025. To begin our test fit, we'll slide the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, allow the pin to fall in place, and then tighten the hand knob to secure our bike rack to our vehicle and engage our anti-rattle device. Now we'll go ahead and go over some clearance measurements. We have about 15 inches of ground clearance throughout the rear of the carrier. The distance from the carrier to the rear of the vehicle is about four inches. When the cradle arms are in the folded position, we've added about 13 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011, Honda CRV, we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RKY1011. To begin our test fit, we simply place the carrier onto the vehicle's crossbars and in no specific order, bring the rubber-coated steel straps through the underside of the front crossbar and bring the back, black bracket around the underside of the rear crossbar. We'll then use the Allen bolts to tighten on the rear bracket as well as hooking the rubber-coated steel straps in the head of the carrier and tightening it down with the Allen key. Once both brackets are tightened down, our RockyMounts TieRod is secured to our Honda CRV. Now, we're ready to load up our bike. We'll loosen up the skewer and undo the rear tray strap.



Hollywood Racks Traveler 5 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

We'veadded about 16 inches to the overall length of our vehicle. We'll pull the pin and clip at the base of the carrier and allow it to tilt away from our CRV.

Now we'll go over some clearance measurements. We have about 13" of ground clearance. The closest point of the bike rack to the rear of our CRV is about 9", and we've added about 21-1/2" tot he overall length of our vehicle. We'll pull the pin at the base of the mast to allow it to tilt away from our vehicle.

Pro Series Q-Slot 2 and 4 Bike Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV, well be test fitting the Pro Series Q-Slot Platform-Style Two Bike Rack, part number PS63138. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench. Now well pull the three pins at the base of the carrier and allow our different areas to unfold. This gives us full access to our rear hatch. Well raise up our center mast and make sure that all three pins are reinstalled. Then well go ahead and go over some clearance of measurements.



Prorack 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today on our 2011 Honda CRV, well be test fitting the Prorack Four-Bike Rack for 1-1/4 inch, two inch hitches, part number PR8062404. To begin our test fit, well slide the shank of the bike rack into the receiver tube of the hitch, line up the pin hole and thread in our anti-rattle bolt, tightening it with a wrench and installing the clip on the other side. We can pull the pin and clip at the base of the bike rack to allow it to tilt away from our CRV. This gives us full access to our rear hatch. With our mast back in its upright position and the pin and clip reinstalled, well go over some clearance of measurements. We have a ground clearance of about 12-1/2 inches.



Kuat Sherpa Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2011 Honda CR-V

Today weve got a 2011 Honda CRV and were going to be test fitting the Kuat Sherpa hitch mounted bike carrier, part number s102. To mount the carrier to the vehicle well insert the shank of the carrier into the receiver tube of the hitch, well line up our hitch pin holes and well use the hand knob at the end of the shank to tighten down our anti-rattle device. Next well go over a handful of clearance measurements. Weve got about 13 inches of clearance from the bottom of the bike rack to the ground, weve got about two inches of clearance between the closet part of the carrier and the closet part of the vehicle, overall weve added about 14 inches of length to the vehicle when the carrier is folded up. Now we want to check for rear vehicle access, well pull the release level at the base of the bike rack and tilt it down flat, well open the cargo door of our Honda CRV to make sure we can still access the area even with the bike rack installed. Now we can go ahead and load up a bike, well open the ratcheting arm and extend it all the way out, well also undo the wheel strap of the cradle closest to the vehicle, well pick up our bike, sit it into the wheel tray and secure it first using the ratcheting hook up front, well place it on the tire just ahead of the front brake caliber.
