Any experience fitting this on a Honda CR-V?

The issue with the 2011 Honda CR-V is that the vehicle tongue weight capacity is only 150 pounds, even if the trailer hitch is rated higher. Heavy platform style bike racks such as # HR1400Z are not ideal for this low tongue weight capacity because the rack is taking up so much of that capacity.

In 4-bike mode, this rack weighs 74 pounds which is half of the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle. That leaves just 76 pounds combined for all 4 bikes. The average bike weighs about 30 pounds.

The most popular 4-bike rack for 2011 Honda CR-V owners is the Thule Hitching Post Pro, # TH934XTR. I have included a link to a video showing the rack on a 2011 CR-V for you.

For a hanging style rack like the Hitching Post Pro, if you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
