No. The 7-Way end in the # 47405 adapter is made for the North American style of 7-Way round pins. A European 7-Way, see picture, has separate turn signals and brake lights and a circuit for fog lamps. The tail lights are also separate.
You would need to fabricate a special adapter to get the 2 to work together. I would need to know which end has the European 7-Way, the vehicle or the trailer. It would also require a semi-permanent change to the connector on the vehicle or possibly the... view full answer...
It looks like there is a positive terminal connection near the fuse box under the hood of your 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge that you would use for a jump start situation. Since that should have sufficient 12V power when your vehicle is turned on that's where I recommend running the 12V power wire to when installing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118792. view full answer...
If you have the factory 4-way installed on your XC60 then you can use a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit - 10 Gauge, item # ETBC7, to complete the wiring for a 7-way connector and a brake controller. This kit includes all of the wiring, connectors, circuit breakers, and trailer connector needed for installation. I have posted instructions for installing the ETBC7 kit below.
If you do not have the OEM 4-Way wiring installed on your vehicle yet you can use the Curt Circuit Protected... view full answer...
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C53HR is an excellent option for a 2016 Volvo XC90. It will require trimming per the installation instructions. I have attached the instruction for you.
Please note, the trimming is required so you can get a nice hidden design and clean look once installed. The receiver tube will be tucked nicely up under the rear bumper with no cross tube shown. view full answer...
The Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # SH77FR is an excellent option for a 2019 Volvo XC40 and what I recommend using. It offers bolt-on installation, and it has a totally hidden design which means it is only visible when in use and totally hidden when not needed.
If you will be towing, then you'll also need to the Towing Kit w/ Ball Mount and Trailer Wiring for Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver - 2" Ball # SH36FR.

Most trailers do not utilize the reverse circuit. In this instance we did not hook up the reverse lights to the 7-way connector. You can easily tie the reverse lights into your 7-way connector. the yellow wire on the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires, part # ETBC7, will get tied into the reverse circuit on your vehicle. You will need to splice the reverse wire to tie the wires together.

Reprogramming will be necessary with the installation of the Towing Kit w/ Ball Mount and Trailer Wiring # SH36FR. Unlike other wiring harnesses, this includes a wiring control module that you will plug your vehicle wiring harness into. Without taking it to the dealer to be programmed the trailer lights will not work. This wiring harness is also different when compared to the # 118683 since it will give you a 7-way along with a 4-way adapter and not just a 4-way.

Thank you so much for your kind words. We strive to give everyone the information they need so they can make the best choices for their vehicles.
A factory 7-way (or any 7-way for that matter) does not send braking signals to a trailer's brakes. Instead, it provides the power and functionality needed for a brake controller to do that. These two have to work in conjunction in order to utilize the trailer's brakes.
That having been said, many vehicles these days (especially those with built-in... view full answer...
You do not have to remove the bumper, but you do have to remove the rear fascia and drill into the frame of your 2019 Volvo XC90 to install the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e53KR.
There are no hitches for your XC90 that you can install without either drilling or removing the bumper or rear fascia. You'll just have to drill a pair of 9/16" holes to install the # e53KR, but if you do not want to do any drilling at all - but are okay with removing the rear bumper temporarily - then I... view full answer...
After installing the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit - Custom Fit - 2" # SH77FRT on your 2019 Volvo XC40 you will need to have your local Volvo dealer flash the computer to activate the towing features. Unfortunately that is not something anyone other than Volvo is able to do.
I included a link to the written instructions of the # SH77FRT for you to take a look at. view full answer...
You won't need to cut the bumper fascia to install a 7-way. We used a # 18136 no-drill bracket that attaches to the hitch crossbar using a pipe clamp. Since the Curt # C53HR hitch crossbar is concealed behind the bumper, the # 18136 bracket can be installed to the underside of the hitch crossbar with the L-bracket for the 7-way extending upward at a 90° angle. If the 7-way you'll be using didn't include an L-bracket, you can use # PK12711U.
If you're needing a brake controller, I'd recommend... view full answer...
I attached a picture I took from the install instructions for the Curt hitch part # C13305 that fits the 2018 Volvo S90 Inscription that covers what needs to be trimmed as well as having a diagram. Basically it's just a small section that has to come off of the lower rear fascia.
We don't have a hitch that fits a V90 Inscription at this time (November 2018). view full answer...

The crossbar spread often referred to with roof boxes like # TH6359B or other accessories is measured from center to center. By measuring from the center of the bar to the center of the bar you will get the crossbar spread required for a roof box. Most roof boxes will give you the minimum requirement for the box to be supported correctly and the maximum it will fit. I've attached the measurement for this roof box to assist. view full answer...
The brake controllers available now either are only on when they are activated, or a have a timed shut-off or idle state after a certain time period. Some of the older brake controllers never shut-off, but they did not drain battery power as the only component that would be on is a low amperage LED indicating that the controller has power or whether or not it was connected to a trailer.
As long as you have a healthy battery, you should not have a problem. Since your car is only 2 maybe... view full answer...
I did some research about the installation of the Yakima FullBack 2 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount - Adjustable Arms, part # Y02634, on your 2019 Volvo XC60. Ground clearance is a pretty common concern, and on some vehicles it can be an issue, but I can happily say that for your 2022 Volvo XC90, ground clearance is not going to a problem whatsoever with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT82GR.
The reason is, when we installed the # DT82GR on a 2022 XC90, we found that there was about 15" of clearance from the top of the hitch to the ground, which is more than enough to ensure there won't be any contact with the ground for the receiver... view full answer...

When you have a trunk mounted bike rack like the Yakima FullBack 3 Bike Rack - Trunk Mount # Y02633 it isn't recommended to open the hatch with the bike rack installed. There is always a possibility of issues with the fasteners causing damage if the rack isn't removed prior to opening the hatch.
