Hello Wes,
Great question! The only hitch that we have that will not interfere with the sensor at all for the 2025 Subaru Forester is the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 306-X7391. If you go to the product page and it says that it doesn't fit, don't be alarmed I was able to confirm through Torklift's website that it will fit the 2025 and am having our fitguide updated. Now, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13409 will... view full answer...
The Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack # MAL84AR you were looking at will fit your 2024 Subaru Forester Wilderness edition. Our fit guide can be a little confusing since these particular crossbars say it fits all models, excluding Wilderness and Wilderness trims. These multiple listings can be confusing but I can assure you these will fit the factory raised rails on your Forester.
The same is true for the shorter 50" Crossbars # MAL74AR I saw you were also looking at. view full answer...
The main difference between these three hitches is going to be the looks and install time.
EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 306-X7391.
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13409.
Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76271.
All three have a max tongue weight of 525 pounds and a max trailer weight of 3,500 pounds.
The EcoHitch is going to be the hardest install at take around two hours.

Hey Frank, good question. The main reason the EcoHitch # 306-X7391 is rated higher than the Curt # C47HR is because each company has different standards for their hitches. The EcoHitch has extra material holding the receiver to the crosstube so it can be tested to higher standards to get the higher 525 lb weight rating. EcoHitch also uses a stainless steel receiver which can help with the higher ratings. Nothing against the Curt hitches at all, but if your goal is to get the strongest hidden... view full answer...

Hello Tom,
Congrats on the new 2025 Subaru Wilderness! What is your favorite new feature?
I went ahead and reached out to the Subaru OEM parts website and was able to confirm that the same hitch will work for the both the 2025 Forester and the Wilderness Edition. So that means that the frame on the vehicle is the same (at least at the rear of the vehicle) even if the body is different. I know the Wilderness is raised a bit more than the base and has a wider bumper, which will help with... view full answer...
Hey Nelson, welcome back and congrats on your new SUV! We get our information directly from Curt and their item # C13409 and item # C47HR hitches fit all models of the 2025 Subaru Forester including the hybrids. This is why we don't list a hybrid option because there's no compatibility issues across the many models of the 2025 Forester. It sounds like the other website doesn't do their research as well.
Out of those two hitches, I recommend the Curt item # C47HR. This custom fit class... view full answer...
Hey there Monica; unfortunately not - your 2024 Subaru Forester will only be able to fit one Yakima ShowDown Kayak Carrier # Y04081.
It's just too wide to fit a pair of them. You can still use the ShowDown but for two kayaks you'd need a different carrier such as the Yakima JayLow # Y04073. view full answer...
Hey Lawrence, thanks for reaching out. The Curt T-Connector # C56040 is correct for the 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid. The factory harness plug should be in the rear cargo area behind the driver side access panel. If you remove the trunk floor covering and remove the plastic fasteners securing the trays in the center and driver side, the connector should be visible. It'll be a white plug that mates with the T-harness plug. I've included a picture from the instructions that should help point... view full answer...
There is a way to install the Thule Big Mouth Roof Mounted Bike Rack that you referenced on aero style bars like what you have.
To do this you will need the Thule XADAPT2 AeroBlade and Xsporter Load Bar Adapter # Xadapt2 and you would be good to go.
You can also purchase the Thule ProRide, part # TH598004, which includes the XAdapt2 parts. It also includes a number of updated features and an easier to manage frame clamp. view full answer...
The best option to make loading kayaks on the roof of your 2019 Subaru Forester is going to be with an assisted kayak carrier like the Thule Hullavator part # TH898 which you'd load at waist height and then push the rack and kayak up onto the roof with the strut assisted carrier's lift mechanisms. So to fit that on your vehicle you'd need a roof rack with wider crossbars like the Malone # MPG216 which has bars that are 58 inches long. This would give you ability to install two of the Hullavators... view full answer...
Hey Jeff! The Curt # C13409 will not completely block the kick sensor on your 2025 Subaru Forester Limited. However, I would expect to have to place your foot on either side of the receiver to activate it. The same is true for any hitch you choose to install on your vehicle.
Also, this does have a visible cross tube hanging down. A hitch like the Curt # C47HR will work as well and has a nice clean look with a concealed cross tube and better clearance. Check it out in the attached photo.

Hi Chris,
We can definitely get you set up with an excellent hitch for your Kuat bike carrier!
Since you mentioned liking the matte black finish (I’m a fan too, it really gives that nice OEM look), I’d recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e83ZR. It offers 14-1/2" of ground clearance, 525 pound tongue weight (great for a bike rack and some bikes), has that sleek matte black finish, and is actually manufactured by Curt, so it’s essentially... view full answer...
Hi Grant!
We have hitches for both vehicles and I have then listed below:
2025 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid:
Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C77MJ
2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid:
etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e83ZR
Both of these are 2" Class 3 hitches and will max out the capacity of the vehicles. The Forester Hybrid can tow up to 1,500 pounds and the RAV4 Hybrid can tow up to 1,750 pounds, so those will me the max... view full answer...
Hey Ryan, so both style of hitches that you referenced are going to work great for carrying a bike rack. The differences that you'd want to weigh would be do you prefer the more hidden look of the hitches like the Curt part # C47HR which is more intricate to install or are you okay with a more visible hitch that happens to install a little bit easier like the Curt # C13409.
The more hidden hitch is a bit more expensive too.
If I were you I'd check out the two pictures of the vehicles... view full answer...
Hi Diane! I don't have any measurements for that pet step but I can give you the measurements from the etrailer # e83ZR so you can figure out where the step will sit on your 2025 Forester. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper is 3-1/4". The distance from the ground to the top inside of the receiver tube is 14-1/2".

Hi Steven; I believe there was a change in the wiring for the 2026 model that doesn't allow the previous custom wiring to cross over. I'm sure Curt is working on a new wiring harness but we don't have an ETA on when that might be available.
The only aftermarket option right now is the universal 4-way # C59496. This is a splice-in installation instead of a plug in, but will still give you a 4-way to power the lights on your trailer.

From the looks of it, it does not look like your older Thule 725 Flat Top can be used with the top tracks. This carrier uses the universal mounting system and does not have an option to use the t-slots.
I checked around with Thule as well, and it looks like all of their carriers use some type of universal mounting system with the exception of the Thule SnowPack Ski and Snowboard Carrier # TH7324 which does use the universal mounting system but also has a kit that allows you to mount the... view full answer...
Hey, Bowie!
Yes, we do carry the hardware you need for your 2015 Subaru Forester. You’ll want to order part # RHK.
When you go to the # RHK product page, you’ll see a box where you can enter your hitch’s part number. Just enter the part number of the hitch you have.
For example, if your hitch is the Curt # e98839, a custom fit for the 2015 Forester, you would enter that into the box labeled “Hitch Item Number.” That way, you’ll get the exact hardware kit made for your hitch.

The Redarc Encapsulated Power Diode # RED34FR shouldn't be needed for installing the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR and Pigtail # RED69FR on your 2020 Subaru Forester.
The answer page you're referring to didn't have us telling someone to install it, rather that person asked how it installs and our expert gave them insight on how to install it. Aside from that we haven't recommended the Power Diode for any other Subaru vehicles. view full answer...
