When you’re towing a large trailer or hauling a full bed of gear, rear-end sag can throw off your steering, braking, and headlight aim. The LoadLifter 5000 air springs add up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity so your vehicle stays level and stable even under the heaviest loads. By distributing weight evenly across all four wheels, they reduce strain on the rear suspension and help keep tires wearing evenly. With the truck sitting level, you get steadier handling, better braking response, and a safer, more confident feel behind the wheel.
Every load is different, and these air springs let you dial in support for each trip. Inflate both bags evenly to keep the truck level front to rear or adjust each side independently to even out off-center loads. With manual inflation valves included, adding or releasing air is straightforward—just pump air through the bumper-mounted valves until the ride height feels right. Run higher pressure when towing or carrying heavy cargo for maximum stability, then drop down toward the 5 psi minimum for a smoother ride when unloaded.
The LoadLifter 5000 system helps tame sway and bounce so your ride feels planted no matter how much weight you’re moving. Each spring is built from 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber that absorbs road shock while keeping shape under pressure. Air Lift’s exclusive upper and lower roll plates protect each bag and increase load capacity for added durability. The result is a smoother, more controlled ride with less sway and less stress on your factory suspension.
Air systems are only as reliable as their seals and endcaps. Instead of steel that can rust over time, these air springs use high-strength Zytel nylon endcaps that are lighter, stronger, and corrosion resistant. That means fewer air leaks and longer service life through every season. With quality brackets, hardware, air lines, and a lifetime warranty with no mileage restriction, this setup is built for years of steady performance wherever work or travel takes you.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Spring Kit for your rear axle. Now this is designed to fit your 2019 and newer Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 with the two-wheel drive. And on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer.com. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our Fit Guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. For instance, if you are looking for the kit for the four-wheel drive, our Fit Guide will point you to the right direction.
So with this kit, you are going to get a safer ride, while at the same time protecting your Sprinter from the strain that comes from hauling heavy loads. As you know, carrying heavy loads can put tremendous strain on your Sprinter. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and the handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even improper or unsafe headlight aim. So, by pairing your existing suspension with these LoadLifter 5000s, you can seriously beef up your original suspension, ensuring equal load distribution and give your Sprinter the support that it desperately needs while you're hauling heavy loads.
These Air Helper Springs provide up to 5,000 pounds of load leveling capacity, and these are gonna distribute the weight of your payload to all four wheels. So, as a result, the stress on your OEM suspension is going to be significantly reduced. Now, taking a slightly closer look here at this kit, these airbags are made here in the USA of high quality two-ply fabric-reinforced rubber. Most airbags can lose the air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with the steel cap because the steel can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the end caps on these Air Lift airbags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon.
Now, you can't see those end caps here 'cause I do have these kind of loosely assembled together with the roll plates that I'll talk about in the next second or so. So those end caps are constructed of this Zytel nylon. It's a material that's both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the airbags won't lose air. So I mentioned these roll plates here. These exclusive roll plates will both protect your air springs and beef up the load capacity of these springs.
So these springs are adjustable from five to 100 PSI, giving you that precise support that you're looking for. These can be inflated independently of one another for front-to-rear or side-to-side leveling. And this does include everything that you see laid out on my table before me. You are going to get the custom-design mounting brackets for your two-wheel drive Sprinter 2500. You're gonna get all the hardware that you need. Obviously, I'm using some of the hardware to secure the plates and the brackets to the bags there. So, I just kind of put these together, just kind of give you an idea of what the assembled product's gonna look like on your Sprinter. So all the hardware that you need, and then the airline, and then the valves, and the manual inflation valves are typically mounted on the bumper for easier access. You are going to get a detailed set of instructions to guide you through the installation process. I do wanna point out that you can get compressor systems with end cap gauges that can be added to monitor and automatically adjust the pressure. These items, we do sell separately here at etrailer.com, but you can find them using the Related Products tab on this Product page. Now, as I mentioned, the load leveling capacity is up to 5,000 pounds, but it is important to note that these Air Helper Springs do not actually increase your Sprinter's weight carrying capacity. So you do wanna make sure that you're not exceeding your manufacturer's recommended weight limit. These do have a lifetime warranty from Air Lift, and I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Things are working well so far. I tow and haul during the spring, summer and fall. The most air I put in the bags was 50 PSI. The air still holds pretty good towing.Time will tell if the bags hold up as the bags age.

Nice job running the Schrader valves through the license plate, that's how I'd do it! '

Glad to hear they are working well for you and they weren't too difficult for your mechanic to get installed, Matthew! Sounds like you have your Taco pretty tricked out! Are you doing an overlanding type thing?

The Air Lift is working GREAT a year later. We just hauled a Generac 705 miles up north and brought a load of big rocks back for a guy that wanted to build a waterfall for his coy fish and the Air lift system was able to handle the weight just fine and rode great. Every one comments about how smooth the truck rides. The Air Lift system has handled everything we have asked it it to and has been trouble free. These will go on every truck I won in the future.

Besides the time it took, I am glad you were able to get these installed and notice a difference right away! They look nice installed. Are you towing anything other than your dump trailer?

Glad to hear you are still liking them, Zach! Are the picture you sent in before or after the bags were installed? If it's after, I think you could actually go with a little higher pressure to really level out!

So far, After a year of use, these air bag helpers I installed on our 21 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 Crew Cab are working just fine. Id recommend them in a heartbeat.

Wow, I love this review because you really show how versatile these air helper springs can be! Towing, hauling, off-roading...what else is there? This is great!

Airlift Bags have performed well, compressor does adjust more at low pressure 10 psi I assume for air temp change, I have checked for leaks multiple time and none found. 6500 towing miles at 80 psi with little auto adjusting pressure and no issues.

Inflation valves tend to loosen. Must be checked regularly. Suggest some type of lock washers be supplied. The only way I found to improve the rear seat ride is to decrease tire pressure. I only do this when expecting passengers so I don’t wear the tires excessively.

Would love to know your thoughts on them once you're able to try them out with the travel trailer, too! Thanks for sharing the different things you've used them with. Sounds like they are just the ticket for your scenario :)
