Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident: Up to 5,000 lbs of Load-Leveling Support

Heavy loads can cause sag, sway, and uneven handling. The LoadLifter 5000 air helper springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support to keep your vehicle level and stable under pressure. By distributing weight across all four wheels, they reduce strain on your factory suspension and improve steering, braking, and headlight aim when towing or hauling serious weight.

Dial In the Ride You Want: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 100 psi

Every load is different, so being able to tune your suspension matters. With manual inflation valves and included air lines, you can adjust each spring independently from 5 psi to 100 psi. Add more air for towing or heavy cargo to keep things level, or drop it down when unloaded for a smoother ride. Independent inflation also lets you correct side-to-side imbalance when carrying uneven loads.

Built Tough for Real Work: Fabric-Reinforced Rubber and Zytel Nylon Endcaps

This system is made for long-term hauling. Each air spring uses 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber with endcaps built from high-strength Zytel nylon that’s lighter, stronger, and more corrosion resistant than steel. Air Lift’s exclusive upper and lower roll plates protect the springs from damage while increasing their load capacity. It’s a setup designed to handle rough use without leaks or failure.

Simple Installation and Reliable Operation: Everything You Need in the Box

The LoadLifter 5000 kit includes mounting brackets, hardware, air lines, and manual inflation valves for straightforward installation. Mount the springs, connect the airlines, and inflate—no complicated setup required. Valves can be placed on the bumper for easy access, and if you want more convenience later, a compressor system with in-cab gauges can be added separately for automatic pressure control.

Video Transcript for Review of Air Lift Vehicle Suspension - LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs Rear Axle - AL36FF

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look together at these Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for your rear axle. Now these have been designed to fit your 2019 and newer Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 with two-wheel drive and a 144-inch wheelbase. On custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our Vehicle Fit Guide here at etrailer.com. Simply input the year, make, and model of your vehicle, and our Fit Guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now, if you're looking for this kit for the same vehicle with a longer wheelbase, we do have that option available for you as well.

Again, the Fit Guide will point you in the right direction. So with this kit, you are going to get a safer ride while at the same time, protecting your vehicle from the strain that comes with hauling heavier loads. As you know, carrying heavy cargo puts tremendous stress on your vehicle. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and the handling is going to suffer severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, and bottoming out, and even improper and unsafe headlight aim.

So, by pairing your existing suspension with these LoadLifter 5000s, you can seriously beef up your suspension, you can ensure an equal load distribution, and you can also give your vehicle the support that it's going to desperately need. These air helper springs are gonna give you up to 5,000 pounds of load leveling capacity. It's gonna help distribute the weight of your payload to all four of your wheels. So, as a result, the stress on your OEM suspension is going to be, obviously, significantly reduced. Now, taking a slightly closer look at this system, these airbags are made here in the USA of high-quality, two-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber.

Most airbags lose air at the ends, where the bag is enclosed with the steel cap because that steel can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the end caps on our springs here, and you can't see them because I do kind of have them loosely assembled with the roll plates and the custom fit brackets, just to kind of give you an idea of what these are gonna look like when they're installed. But on these airbags, the end caps are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon. That's a material that's both stronger and lighter than steel, so that's going to ensure that the bags won't lose air. Also, these springs do come with Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which both protect your air springs and beef up the load capacity of the springs.

These springs are adjustable from five to 100 PSI, giving you that precise support, and they can be inflated independently of one another for front, rear, or side-to-side leveling. Now, everything that you see here laid out on my table is going to be included in this kit. It's going to include the custom mounting brackets and then I mentioned the roll plates, the manual inflation valves, air line, the hardware that you're going to need to get this into place, along with this set of instructions to guide you through that installation process. The manual inflation valves are typically mounted on the bumper for easy access. And you can get compressor systems with end cap gauges that can be added to monitor and automatically adjust the air pressure. Those items, we do sell separately on our website, but you can find them under the Related Products section or Related Products tab on this product page. Now, again, the load leveling capacity of this kit is 5,000 pounds, but it is important to remember that these air springs do not actually increase the weight carrying capacity of your vehicle. So you do wanna make sure that you don't exceed what the manufacturer says is your weight limit for your vehicle. Well, I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together has been helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

Im very impressed with these airbags. So far they are doing the job.
These come with all hardware and instructions. I put 20 psi with no load to see how long the air would hold up. 2 weeks later im now at 15 psi which I'm satisfied.
The previous bags of another brand didnt hold air well even with no leaks.
I can tell the difference in ride quality. I've loaded the bed with landscaping materials and towed my boat with 15 psi and still holding strong. Looking forward to towing my Travel Trailer.
Customer service has also been great!

@BrookeM Hi Brooke. I finally had the opportunity to tow my travel trailer. Very impressed with the stability and reliability these airbags have performed. I put 40 psi in the airbags using my weight distribution hitch , and it worked well. During my trip a support bar fell off while on the road without me knowing. That told me right there how much support and strong the bags are. Coming back from my trip I had no support bars and put more air (50) PSI. The support bags held up well. I can feel the difference between not having the support bars versus having them. My truck was a little bouncy on wavy roads but not bad enough to have a negative impact on the airbag support If it wasn't for the strength and support from the airbags i wouldn't be confident enough to tow without the support bars When not towing i leave 10-15 psi in the bags. It's amazing how long the air holds up to 3 weeks or so without adding air. Very happy with my purchase

Things are working well so far. I tow and haul during the spring, summer and fall. The most air I put in the bags was 50 PSI. The air still holds pretty good towing.Time will tell if the bags hold up as the bags age.

These were a great addition to my truck. I moved from Washington to Michigan 1 year ago. Heavily loaded trailer and truck. No sag, no issues. Full disclosure I had to get some custom U bolts made because of my setup, but I have had zero issues. Great buy.

I plumbed my airlines through the license plate which turned out to be very handy.

Nice job running the Schrader valves through the license plate, that's how I'd do it! '

Watched the install video twice before the shipment got here and had no problems installing it. Also installed the WirelessOne from Airlift at the same time. Picked up some 1/4" clamps to make the air lines look a little cleaner, and hold them in place during our snowy and icy winters. Including the WirelessOne system, it took about 8 hours from the time I washed the underside of the truck until I rolled it back out from the garage. Pulled the camper this morning and all my old issues have disappeared. Truck is level, trailer pulls great, and the cooling system is back to working as needed. Highly recommend this suspension kit!

I didn’t do the install myself. However my mechanic talked me into these after adding a rack and rooftop tent to my ‘14 Tacoma. Absolutely Fantastic. I have a 3” suspension lift and the truck handles as near to stock as I can remember. Awesome product. Easy install (according to mechanic). Thanks all. Oh yes, one issue because I added a leaf spring when I lifted it. He had to find new shackles to allow for fit. FYI

Not quite Overland, definitely camping, hunting fishing. Its my “bugout” vehicle whenever need be. Moving back home to Central NY from MA soon and hoping to spend most spring/summer camping for sure. Love these springs! Seriously has not driven this well since stock. With the rack and rtt on top its an added (roughly) 500lbs and a bit top heavy. Not any more! Thanks all

a very good choice. The F150 did not have enough stock suspension for my 24 foot trailer with a GVER 10,000lb. Now we all know the truck will pull that weight but when you hooked up it squatted. After installing the air lift it does not squat any more and the truck with a 5.0 has enough power to pull the weight. I had Monroe air shocks on it before but they would not do the job. I am very happy with the setup. I replaced the Monroe air shocks with Rancho shock's and the ride is amazing with or with out the trailer. This was a great investment for the long haul.

The Air Lift is working GREAT a year later. We just hauled a Generac 705 miles up north and brought a load of big rocks back for a guy that wanted to build a waterfall for his coy fish and the Air lift system was able to handle the weight just fine and rode great. Every one comments about how smooth the truck rides. The Air Lift system has handled everything we have asked it it to and has been trouble free. These will go on every truck I won in the future.

by:
Installed yesterday and tried them out with the fifth wheel loaded. Leveled my truck out in seconds with a compressor. The installation video on the same page as the product was extremely easy to follow. Also, Joy was awesome with helping me select what I needed over the phone. Very happy with this.
by:
The airbags did their job! I’ve got a 2021 Toyota Tacoma, and I’m really happy with the results so far. I only had to put in about 10 psi, and that was more than enough to handle the weight of the dump trailer. The install was a bit tedious and took around 3 hours total. The left side definitely took longer than the right.

Besides the time it took, I am glad you were able to get these installed and notice a difference right away! They look nice installed. Are you towing anything other than your dump trailer?

by:
I had the airbags installed at my local auto shop. It took them 4 1/2 hours to install them. The kit I purchased didn't include a heatshield to protect the airbag from the exhaust pipe so I had to contact Airlift to get one sent to me. It's been 12 days since contacting them and haven't received the part yet.

Install on a 2026 F350 SRW. Love the product and have zero issues with that itself. The reason for the 4 star is the clearance with the factory sway bar and brake lines. It does mention that in the instructions, however it's extremely tight and I'll definitely be checked for rubbing in the future to make sure I don't have clearance issues. Otherwise, they work great paired with the Airlift WirelessAIR compressory system, zero complaints on the usability of the product.

Quick and easy install for anyone that can use a wrench. Bags help a ton with eliminating squat on the truck. If pulling trailers is in your daily routine then they are a must. Pull the trigger and order ya some. You won’t regret it and it’s the best bang for your buck

Glad to hear you are still liking them, Zach! Are the picture you sent in before or after the bags were installed? If it's after, I think you could actually go with a little higher pressure to really level out!

Dodge Ram Pickup
I just completed the install of this Airlifter 5000 series air bag kit. First, the kit, without a doubt, is a high quality kit with many of it's components designed specifically for specific vehicle application. I installed it under the rear of our new-to-us 2021 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Laramie 4x4 Ecodiesel. I was very pleasantly surprised by the nice and robust powder coating of the metal mounting plates. That means protection for them for a long, long time. The hardware/fastners were/are of decent quality also. And, while the "springs" used for the temporary carriage bolt retention in part of the install are a good idea, I have maybe a better way of doing that. In my opinion, for whatever that's worth, here's a suggestion.
Since there are TWO of those carriage bolts that have to be installed AT ONE TIME, you now have to deal with those two long tailed springs, carriage bolts that continue to fall backwards into the abyss of the frame, all the while trying to maneuver the frame mount plate into position. Then, trying to retain tension on the tails of those springs that retain the carriage bolts, and align the bolt tips to enter the mount plate, and then, if and or when you get the mount plate into position and both bolt tips are protruding through it, you now have to hold ALL of that in place, while you remove at least one spring so that you can now grab a nut (a feat unto itself) and fit it onto the tip of one bolt, all the while trying to hold tension on that bolt so it won't fall backwards into the frame and start threading it.
Then, once it's threads are started, you can no concentrate on the same operation for the second bolt. What a serious pain in the petute!

But instead of the springs and tails to be used to retain the bolts while prepping to install the mount plate, you use whatever their called, a very, very thin retainer clip or washer or "push clip" (I really don't know the name of them) that are used to retain the drums onto hubs on an axle, ALL THOSE PROBLEMS would be over.

You'd simply use the springs as before to load and pull the bolts through their respective holes as before. Now, with the one bolt in place, reach through the center hole in the frame that's between the two bolt holes and using a finger, push on the head of that installed bolt. Your finger will now hold the bolt in place. Now, with that bolt held in place, you can remove the spring. Then, PUSH the very thing spring clip right over the threads of the bolt and it will "ratchet" down the threads until it bottoms out against the frame. You have now LOCKED that bolt in place and you can let got of it with your finger and that bolt isn't going anywhere!!!!!!!!

Now, do the same for the second bolt. Now, both bolts are held firm in place WITHOUT the long and cumbersome tails of the springs. You can now grab the mount plate and push it up into place and over both exposed sets of threads at the same time WITHOUT FEAR of pushing the bolts back into the frame. You can now hold that mount plate in place while you grab one nut at a time and thread it all the way on. Then do the same for the other nut.

To me, this would be waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier than the method you (and I, and any installer, be it a shop or a home install) are presently using. If I had a link to what kind of clip I'm talking about, I'd link it.

But, those clips are seriously thin yet are quite capable of retaining those bolts and will not hinder the mate-up of the mount plate to the frame sides. Sure seems worth a looking into to me. Just a suggestion.

I load my F350 just under its legal limit of payload with my 5th wheel. I had initially relied on overload bump stops to prevent sag, but the ride was far too uncontrolled for my liking. I have used Airlift bags in the past on a previous vehicle and loved them. I bit the bullet and installed them on my F350 SRW and could not be happier with the ride quality and control they provide. Instead of bouncing and bucking us out of the seat while destroying steering authority on the HWY, now I have control of my payload and a stock ride when I am unloaded. I should have gone with the bags to start and I cannot recommend them enough for all the 5th wheelers out there or anyone else who tows heavily on a regular basis. The kit supplied everything needed, although I added a simple piece of bar stock to mount the schrader valves. Very clear instructions that were easy to follow.

I can’t believe how much putting these rear springs on my 2021 Jayco Alante Class A has helped the whole suspension and ride.
We took the RV all the way to Alaska through AB, BC, and Yukon Canada. I started with low pressure at 60 psi to see how it performed but ended up having the air set at 80 psi. I would definitely recommend these to anyone with a Ford F-53 suspension who struggles with the ride and comfort.

2024 Toyota RAV4
Installed on 2019 Toyota Tacoma. I previously installed an add-a-leaf kit on the truck thinking it would 1. Lift the suspension to match the Bilstein 5100’s in the front and 2. Increase load / decrease sagging under load. While the add-a-leaf did raise the rear of the truck nicely, as I began to add tools (weight) it still sagged. The Load Lifter 5000 took care of this problem. Now I load the truck (or hook up a trailer) and simply add air pressure to the helper springs to bring the truck up level. I chose not to install the on-board air compressor. Instead I carry a portable, hand held compressor in the truck. I dial up the pressure I want and hit “go” and this seems to work well for me as I rarely need to change the pressure anyway. Nice to know when you empty out the truck you can reduce the pressure and go back to a softer ride. Also, I off-road some and was concerned about exceeding the travel of the helper springs and possibly causing damage so I also installed the kit that allows you to disconnect the helper springs from the rear axle and allow it to rest in a cradle. When full leaf extension occurs the helper springs raise out of the cradle and return there again when the leaf returns to normal position. This keeps any damage to the helper springs from occurring due to over extension.

After a year of use I can safely recommend this product!

I installed the airbags on my 2015 Ford Transit to help with the heavier weight after converting it to an RV. The airbags were fairly easy to install. All the parts were included with the kit. I chose to use the manual inflation option by running the air tubes to the back of the van and mounted the fill valves under the bumper. There is a noticeable difference in the sway of the van going around corners and the sag in the back of the van when fully loaded. It's easy with a bicycle tire pump to adjust the firmness of the airbags. A great addition to the safety of the van.

Airlift Bags have performed well, compressor does adjust more at low pressure 10 psi I assume for air temp change, I have checked for leaks multiple time and none found. 6500 towing miles at 80 psi with little auto adjusting pressure and no issues.

Truck rides nice with 15 lbs of air. F250 didn't have the factory bolts that are shown in the videos. It required 2- 3/4" bolts nuts and lock washers. 2 5/8" bolts nuts and lock washers. I had to drill the small hole there wasn't any. It installed very easily though

I combined these with lowering blocks for my 19 F350 and the remote compressor setup (no tank). I LOVE IT. I can reach my bed better. The remote compressor setup makes it so easy. Pulling is improved. One year later I would buy again in a heartbeat.

Installation was not difficult. Excellent for the intended purpose of leveling the vehicle with a bumper pull RV trailer connected. Has made the ride for the rear seat passengers uncomfortable when not towing. Have not found a PSI that alleviates this.

Inflation valves tend to loosen. Must be checked regularly. Suggest some type of lock washers be supplied. The only way I found to improve the rear seat ride is to decrease tire pressure. I only do this when expecting passengers so I don’t wear the tires excessively.

  • What Anti-Sway Upgrade Is Best For my 2021 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 Towing a Trailer?
Hey Ryan, I totally understand why you're concerned about sway with the extra weight and the lift on your camper van. While you could use a weight distribution hitch for your application, in my experience, an anti-sway bar and air bag system would be more beneficial. Because camper vans are typically tall and top heavy, they experience a lot of sway from the wind, rough terrain, and passing trucks that can make handling difficult and exhausting. Since you're planning on towing dirt bikes,...
