Airflow makes or breaks how your Promaster feels inside. Without it, the space can feel closed in and stuffy. Adding this sliding window turns that solid panel into a screened, tinted opening that lets air and light into that section.
This double-slider window replaces the solid panel in the driver side rear quarter of your Ram ProMaster. Instead of a sealed panel, the front and rear glass sections slide independently so you can vent from either side or open both at the same time. Each panel uses a spring-loaded latch to hold it where you set it.
When the glass is open, the mesh screen keeps bugs out of the sliding door opening so the van can vent while you're parked. The pleated shade gives you a way to cover that large door window when you're sleeping inside or leaving tools and gear in the cargo area. You can run the screen and shade together, separately, or retract both for a clear opening.
This sliding window sits at eye level from outside, creating a direct view into the cargo area. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see into the van while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that door glass.
Cutting into the rear quarter panel is permanent. The frame has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door skin. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, urethane primer is applied around the opening before a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW84ZR - sold separately) is applied. Once the window is pressed into place, the urethane bonds the frame to the body and forms the weather seal that keeps water out. Consistent bead thickness helps create a proper seal, and the window is taped in position while the urethane cures.

Today we're taking a look at our Van Windows Direct double sliding window for the driver's side rear quarter panel on a 2014 through current year Ram ProMaster, the driver's side rear quarter panel. Now this will fit the 1500 all the way up to the 3500 with the 159-inch extended wheel base. That being said, make sure you're checking your fit guide. Make sure you're getting the right parts the very first time.
Now as you can see, I got dual sliding windows here. I do have a pull down shade. I'll show you the backside in just a minute. It is magnetic, along with a screen one as well. Let's do a little zoom in here.
So I got the screen one. You can still see behind it. They're magnetized so I can pull them both down together, or I can have just the privacy shade as well. So, folks, this is a great option for you if you're wanting to add or turn that van into a camper. Maybe you're working inside of it, you want some airflow.
This is a real easy way of getting that airflow. Now, coming around, this will be from the inside of the van looking out. That's that privacy shade I was talking about. There's a magnetic strip here and here. (magnets clicking) Here's the screen shade.
And if you heard them click together, now they're hooked together with magnets. Simply pull it apart, If you wanna open the glass, I can simply do that with this latch on both sides. Everything here is a tempered glass. It is DOT and SAE safe. And you do have that nice, what they're calling a gray 17% privacy tint on the outside. So it's gonna block UV rays. It's also gonna do a great job of reflecting light, as you can see. And it's gonna keep the harmful UV rays out, the heat out, but allow you to be able to see out, and just add some more depth and space to the inside of that van, 'cause once you add windows or mirrors to the rooms, they just get bigger, right It's just a natural thing. Now, to install it yourself, you're gonna need some parts that are not included. I'll throw them up on the screen. You may need some or all these, just depends on what your level is and what you have already as far as installation. It's a urethane-bonded insulation, so that's gonna secure the window to the metal and create that weathertight sealant as well. But it also has flexibility built into it for bumps on the road and those kinda things. That being said, if you don't wanna tackle this install, you're like, "Heck no, Steve.
