The Patrol bike rack lets you transport 2 bikes in your truck bed. The telescoping aluminum bar fits any size truck, and it adjusts in small increments to fit perfectly on your truck-bed side rails. You can carry bikes with 9-mm quick-release skewers and 15-mm thru-axle forks, lock each bike fork to the rack, and lock the rack to your truck.

Hassle-Free Bike Mounting

This rack includes 2 fork blocks with locking 9-mm quick-release skewers. The fork blocks are compatible with bikes that have 9-mm skewers as well as 15-mm thru-axle forks. They will also accept 20-mm thru-axle forks with an adapter (S64715 - sold separately).

Bikes easily install on the rack. Simply place your bikes' forks onto the fork block skewers, tighten the nuts, and close the cam-action levers. Fork mounts can be repositioned along the telescoping bar to ensure proper bike spacing.

More bikes can be added with additional fork-mount blocks (S64703 - sold separately). The rack will hold a total of 4 road bikes or 3 mountain bikes.

Easy Truck-Bed Installation

Easily install the carrier between your truck-bed side rails. Open the cam lever to release the telescoping arm. Pull the arm out until the end pads rest against your side rails, and then use the micro adjustment knob to ensure a tight fit. You can also use the pre-drilled holes in each end pad to bolt the carrier onto your truck-bed side rails.

Locking Design

To deter theft, lock each bike to the rack with the included quick-release skewers. You can also secure the rack to your truck with the locking macro adjustment cam lever and micro adjustment knob.

The quality of the rack is fantastic. Sadly the keys do not work on the Locking Quick Release Skewers. I've contacted Swagman about this and am waiting for a response.

by:

rack tends to work itself loose from bed walls during long trips. had to strap down with ratchet straps to keep from moving. locks only work at a specific angle -- wish the manual had said this because we couldn't lock our bikes until figuring it out.

Excellent Customer service and help for this product. Thank you Carol and Neil your the best.

Quite pleased with nearly everything regarding this rack. Setup was super easy right out of the box, loved that I didn't need any tools. Bikes feel very secure and I haven't noticed any shifting or movement while driving around. My only complaint is that it's possible for someone to remove (or steal) the locking skewers when there's no bike attached just by unscrewing the endcap. Even if the handle is locked in place, just unscrew the endcap and you can remove the whole locking mechanism. So...works fantastic when there's a bike to be hauled, but makes me uncomfortable when I just park the truck and walk away. Works great, could just be a bit more secure.

by:

My wife and I have used the rack a number of times over the last year and it works really well. Easy to install and remove each time. Holds our bikes securely even with the tonneau cover trays on the bed sides.

by:

Really well made and super simple to install. I can confirm that it does fit a 2019 Ford Ranger, which is what I have.

  • Does the Swagman Impakt Come With Mounting Hardware
The Swagman Impakt # S64701 does come with the hardware included. The included hardware is anti-theft bolts and T-slot wedges for use with Swagman Patrol and other channel-mount applications, so you've got some different options you can choose from. I've also attached a video of the installation on a Toyota truck that you might find helpful.

  • Difference Between Swagman Truck Bed Racks S64702 and Patrol S64701
The two Swagman bike racks you mentioned are very similar. For the money I would have to recommend the # S64702 since will basically do all the same things as the other rack at a fraction of the price. As long as you have 9 mm axles this would be the way to go. The biggest advantage to the part # S64701 is that it can fit 9mm, 15 mm, and thru-axle bikes so it does offer a bit more flexibility. Since you said you have a lefty bike you would need a different rack than those two. You would...

  • Availability of Adapter for Swagman Pick-Up 2 Bike Carrier # S64702
I spoke with my contact at Swagman and unfortunately the Thru-Axle Adapter Core # S64718 that you referenced is not compatible with your Pick-Up 2 Bike Carrier # S64702. There is no adapter available for this particular bike rack that will allow it to secure a different skewer diameter other than the 9 mm it is designed to work with. We do have the similar Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack # S64701 that can be used with the Adapter # S64718 so that you can mount your new bikes.

  • What Truck Bed Bike Rack is Recommended for a 2015 Ford F-150
I recommend the Thule Bed-Rider 2 Bike Rack # TH822XTR, it is confirmed to fit on your 2015 Ford F-150 by Thule. This way if you are needing to carry an extra bike, you can carry it using the Thule 1 Bike Add-On # THBRLB2. The Swagman can only carry up to 2 bikes at a time, so this is why I recommend the Thule Bed-Rider. The Bed-Rider requires the bikes you are carrying to have 9-mm quick-release front-wheel-skewers. The Bed-Rider has a one-key system lock to secure your bikes to the...

  • Recommended Truck Bed Bike Rack With Front Wheel Carrying Security
There are not any specific wheel carriers for the Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack for Truck Beds - Fork Mount, # S64701. I reached out to my contact at Swagman and he said that they didn't design it to work this way, but most users will mount the rack 6-8 inches back from the front of the cab and will put their wheel in that space. Using the rack in this way actually locks your front wheel from being removed until you remove the bike itself, so there is even a built in security to using it...

  • Is the Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack S64701 Lockable
Yes, the Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack # S64701 that you referenced has locks built into the skewers of the rack so that you can lock bikes to it. If you were to use the 20 mm adapter part # S64715 it would also still be able to lock.

  • How to Lock Bikes for Security When Using the Swagman Pick-Up 2 Bike Carrier # S64702
The Swagman Pick-Up Truck-Bed-Mounted 2 Bike Carrier # S64702 comes with an integrated lock for the rack itself. If you would like to lock your bikes as well you will need to add a cable lock like part # e98891. You can also add some extra security to the adjustment lever by installing a padlock like part # 131D. • Can the Swagman Impakt Bike Rack Be Used With Yakima HD Crossbars?
Since the Swagman Impakt Bike Rack # S62FR is meant to be used with the Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack for Truck Beds # S64701 which is basically a single crossbar with a t-track, you could use it with your Yakima HD Crossbars # Y01159. This rack can support bikes up to 45-lbs, and will work with bikes that have 9-mm x 100-mm quick-release skewers and 12-mm x 100 mm or 15-mm x 110-mm thru-axle forks.

  • Best Locking Bike Racks for a Truck Bed
If you are looking for a truck bed bike rack that actually locks to a truck bed, then you will want to look at the Swagman Patrol, # S64701. The biggest difference with this bike rack and the Topline you were originally looking at is that the front wheel must be removed to mount the bikes. There is also a price difference as the locking bike racks always tend to run higher in price to bike racks that don't lock. This is more of a "you get what you pay for" type of situation. If you aren't...

  • Will Two Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed Single Bike Racks Fit in the Bed of a 2004 Ford Ranger Edge
The Thule Insta-Gater Truck Bed Single Bike Rack, item # TH93VR, is 18 inches wide and requires 20 inches of space to be mounted. Two of these can be mounted side by side if your truck bed is at least 40 inches wide or wider. Another option for carrying two bikes in the bed is the Swagman Patrol 2 Bike Rack for Truck Beds - Fork Mount # S64701, which mounts to the bed rail and holds the bikes without using the tailgate to secure them.

  • What Type of Bike Rack to Use on Truck with Tonneau Cover
Because your tonneau cover attaches to the bed rails by grabbing the inside of the bed rail you would want to go with the truck bed bike rack Thule part # TH93VR that attaches to the floor. The Swagman part # S64701 would interfere with the tonneau since it would be putting pressure on the setup. Check out the review video I attached for this rack as well.

  • Options for Adding Bike Rack Inside Enclosed Cargo Trailer with Track System
Not directly, but I may still have a solution for you. I wasn't able to find an "A-Track" system but if it's anything like the E-Track or X-Track systems then you could potentially use some of the E-Track Wood Beam Socket for Standard 2" Lumber # 59149 as a base and then install a custom-mounted fork mount rack like the Kuat Dirtbag # DRT9P or Swagman Impakt # S62FR. This way you still get a bike rack that mounts to your floor but you can also remove it. Another option would be to use...

I may have a solution, but I checked with my contact over at RockyMounts and when it comes to the # RKY10996 the tie down positions on the longer beds are different; this means the orientation does not work for the 6-1/2 or 8ft to allow you to install the RockyMounts Truck Bed Track for Fork Mount Bike Racks # RKY10996.
