Specs:
This bike rack lets you carry your bikes and wheels upright in your truck, van or SUV. Use with Saris fork blocks (sold separately) to mount your bikes to the track and wheel mounts (sold separately) to carry your bikes' wheels. It's easy to install - simply lay it on the floor. Rubber padding and endcaps prevent sliding and protect your vehicle from scratches and abrasions.
Mount Saris Traps fork blocks (sold separately) anywhere along the Triple Track for best bike placement. Place your bikes closer together for the greatest storage area, or further apart for easy access. 3 Track channels allow you to place the fork blocks either horizontally or diagonally to prevent bike-to-bike contact.
You can also add a bike wheel holder (sold separately) that lets you secure your bikes' wheels upright on the rack without damage to your spokes or disc brakes. Use the included gray thumb wheel to secure the holder to the rack, then place the wheel into the grooves of the wheel holder and tighten down the skewer.
The Triple Track installs easily - simply set it on the floor. It has a rubber layer underneath that prevents it from sliding around. It can also be permanently mounted on most flat surfaces - even on a wall. There are 6 pre-drilled, recessed holes for permanent mounting (hardware not included).

Hey everyone, it's Colin here at etrailer. So, we're going to take a look at the Saris Traps Fork-Block Bike Carrier Base. This base is going to be a really nice solution, and a very versatile solution, to be able to carry a couple of bikes and maybe their wheels, as well, either in the back of your crossover, or SUV, or even in your truck bed, as well as carrying the wheels. You're going to be able to mount fork-mounted bike racks, load it up into the T-slots up here. We're going to have three different ones. You could also get some wheel mounts, as well, so that you don't have to just let those sit either in the back of your vehicle or just in your truck bed.
You can get everything mounted up here to make sure that it's safe for the trip. Now, I do want to point out that these fork-mounted bike racks that we have installed right now are not included with this. However, there is other options for kits where you can get the base and three bikes, whether you have the 35 inch long version or the 47 inch long. So, just check out our website if you want both. Now, one thing you do want to keep in mind is that while right now we have two road bikes loaded up, if you frequently like to go on mountain bike rides, and be out there for a long time. When you get back there's usually a lot of dirt and mud on your mountain bike.
When you put them inside your vehicle like we have right now that mud could spread around. However, that is easily avoidable just by putting a blanket, or a tarp, down on the inside of your vehicle and then setting the mountain bike on top of it.Now, something that our customers really like about this setup, especially when you use it for an SUV like we have right now, is that it provides great security for your bikes. You can just lock them inside your vehicle. You don't have to deal with any bike cable locks, or any wheel-mount hook locks, or even the frame-mount hook locks. It's just going to be out of sight.
You can see right now they are not visible at all. It just puts your mind at ease. Now, a couple of things I really like about this Traps system is that it eliminates the need for me to get any type of hitch-mounted bike rack, or roof rack with a couple of bike racks up top on there, because with my truck, personally, I'd rather just use the bed of the pickup for my bikes instead of getting a hitch-mounted accessory and adding on that length with the bike rack. Now, what's really cool about this Traps system is that we have three different T-slots, so we're able to actually mount our three fork blocks in different ways. You can see our middle one is at the front slot, and we mounted to the two sides at an angle alternating using the two back tracks, as well. That would just help out for spacing and making sure that your handlebars don't come in contact with each other. So, it's pretty versatile.
You should be able to find a way to get your bikes loaded without them touching each other. Now, if you haven't noticed yet our base where our bikes are attached is not secured to the truck bed at all, and we have had some customers ask about how much it moves while we're driving. I've had this thing out on the road, driven around the parking lot, taking some corners, and it really didn't budge at all. What's nice is that these bases are going to be very dense. I have the 47 inch base right here. This one comes in at about 10 pounds. The other one's going to be about eight pounds. So, really not too much difference. Like I said, I've had them out on the road and they've done great, haven't really budged at all. They do have a nice durable aluminum construction with this nice gray powder coat finish that helps it resist rust and corrosion.Additionally, on the backside, or on the bottom side I should say, we do have these nice rubber strips that are going to help out for keeping their grip on our truck bed, or in the back of our SUV. We also have end caps on both sides that are made out of really thick rubber. It's going to help out for making sure it has a proper amount of grip to keep your bikes in place. Just to show you guys how dense it really is, I'll just go ahead and pick it up and drop it on the tailgate. You can really hear that big thud letting you know it's pretty dense. Now, right here I'll show you guys a closer look at these T-slots that we have. It's very easy to adjust your accessories while it's in there. If you need to scoot it over to the left or right you can do so very easily, and just using a 7/16 wrench you can tighten down this included hardware that comes with the platform. Again, the fork-mounted bike rack does not, but once you get the fork-mounted bike rack you can use this hardware to get it mounted onto your platform. Now, like I said, this thing is very low profile. It's not going to take up a lot of space, no matter if you have a 35 inch version like this, or even just the 47 inch version, which is just another foot, it's still going to only be about an inch tall when it's laying flat. It's going to make it very easy to store when it's not in use. In this situation I could put it up under my toolbox so it's not in the way while I'm using my truck bed, and it's ready to pull back out whenever I want it. Or, you can just even put it under the seats of whatever vehicle you might be using.Well, thank you all for watching, and I hope this information helped you out. That's going to do it for a look at the Saris Traps Fork-Block Bike Base Carrier.

Fork-mount carrier lets you haul your bikes upright in your truck, SUV, or van. Simply lay the track on the floor and slide fork blocks (sold separately) along the tracks for bike placement. Prevents bikes from sliding around and getting scratched.Really love it. Installed in my 2017 Chevrolet Silverado with Leer Cap. I have two Trek Townies I take on camping trips. Bikes are safe secure and kept clean. I mounted the track to the bed of my truck because I felt it stayed much more secure that way. Even with the two bikes installed I have plenty of room for other camping gear.
Awesome! Heavy enough that I don't have to bolt it down, and the rubber bottom grips to prevent sliding. I put 3 fork mounts on it with plenty of room to add a 4th if I need to
Very nice low profile bike rack for inside my Pacifica minivan. There are metal loops at the tailgate end then and also the hook loop for the folded down seats. I used these to secure a rope that anchored the rack to the floor, front and back. Very stable.
This works perfectly in my 2007 Nissan Quest minivan.
I am able to securely and rapidly store and transport 3 bikes wile keeping 3 seats usable in the van.
The base is heavy enough that it stays put so that the bikes stay still and do not knock into each other on the trip.
I *might* be able to fit 4 bikes in there, but only if I put down another seat, leaving room for only 2 passengers, so I'll say 3 bikes and 3 people in my minivan is the sweet spot for this.
It really is nice that I can load them so rapidly and that the bikes do not have to touch each other.
Thanks for the follow up emails. Received my interior saris fork mount carrier and already have people raving about it. Here is a photo for subaru outback 2014 with saris
Thanks again
the product is very good from a durability stand point. But lacking a bit when it comes to flexibility of design. The platform at which the traps are attached could be further re-designed to include the ability to extend or contract to provide a better fit whether the application will be inside the back of a van or on a truck bed. Also some additional suggestion would be looking at ways to anchor the track when use inside a van or SUV. The price I paid for this product i would consider high because of the lack of versatility in terms of use. Would i recommend it? well if you are looking for a nice looking track with traps this would be your choice. Don't get me wrong the quality is very good I just wish a bit more thought was put into it before pricing it. There are other more economical ways to reproduce what this product can be used for; for a lot lot less.
After one year still love this product! Use it in a 2019 Tacoma Short bed with a leer cover. My bike fits perfectly and is stabilized during travel - so easy to take in and out. Also use the wheel holder which works well. When not using the Sari track its so simple to take out of truck and store.
In case you were wondering, YES, the Dirtbag mounts work perfectly with the Saris Trap rack. Actually they couldn't fit better if Saris made them themselves. I purchased some wing nuts to allow the racks to be changed out and moved around much easier.
Carrier works great in my 2010 Nissan X terra.
Received exactly what I ordered and the shipment was on time. Works just as advertised. The perfect solution for transporting bikes in my truck. I couldn’t be more pleased.
Excellent product and well made. Looks great
Works really well. I probably should have gotten a wider base as it likes to flip at times.
