Durable cable covering resists damage.I've installed a LOT of wiring harnesses on trailers, made pigtails for the truck to trailer and am generally happy with Hopkins quality products. BUT I am not happy that this pigtail uses colors for the wires that are NOT universally standard. IF I had hooked this up by the proper color code, it would not have worked. IF there had been a color code provided with the cable it would have been an easier installation. As it was I had to wring out each one separately. On a positive note, the LEDs are a nice touch.
Why doesn’t the 7 way cable have standard color coded wires ?
I purchased this to replace the one on my 5th wheel RV that had a bad onnection. I have been using it for a year and at 22 RV parks to date as a full time Rver. It is still working flawlessly.
Fits nice and snug in the socket I think it's going to really do the job. This is for a boat trailer that in and out of the saltwater. I'm real curious to see how this holds up. This is the first time I've tried a rubber molded trailer wiring.
Great product. Wires matched the colors in my control box. Made switching plug a snap. Only wish it came with ring connectors.
Solidly built, high quality materials. 1st time amateur wiring of a trailer. Im going to study some "how to" videos. But I've got the right materials for a successful project.
I like the lights on the plug- saved me a midnight question about whether my trailer or tow vehicle had a fault.
I ordered one Monday morning and received it on Tuesday afternoon. Everything was in the box and in excellent shape. I got everything installed the same evening following the instructions on the website. I tested it and everything works correctly. Thankyou etrailer!!!
Excellent product. Indicator lights immediately inform you of a problem should one occur, as well as indicating specifically which wire is causing the problem.
