Hello The hitch works great as viewed in the enclosed pictures. If inverted it hits the bumper, of my Dodge 2500. The section that goes into the receiver is about 1/2" too short and hits the bumper. I have not tried it on my other vehicle to see if this is a problem. Kind Regards Leon D

Johnny thanks for the feedback. In case you did not know we do also offer some ball mounts in extended lengths (long and extra long) for this exact reason. For a long ball mount that has the same rise and drop as this Rapid Hitch ball mount, check out the Diversi-Tech # DTSTBM7025. For this ball mount the distance from the center of the hitch pinhole to the back of the upright bar is 4-1/4 inches, vs. the Rapid Hitch # AM3413 is 3 inches.

A VERY nice piece that will set your mind at ease. Easy to adjust height.
The ONLY thing I wish is there was an option to have different sized ball combinations. I mainly use 2" and NEVER use a 2 5/16"(or whatever the larger size is) and would prefer to have a 1 7/8" on the other side.

Great looking hitch that works great for our needs towing about 7,000lbs on a regular basis. Hitch is durable and easy to use. Adjust quickly between vehicles and different trailer heights. I would highly recommend buying the hitch locks as well. Standard ones you find don’t fit the wider slide to properly secure it.

I love this thing and it has performed well on several long trips: 3 times to TX and once to IL from NJ plus local stuff. It's somewhat lighter than the other ball mounts I've had and certainly looks nicer. It provides a ton of adjustability and my '17 Suburban needed 9 inches of drop for the utility trailer (Stealth Phantom II) I use to haul motorcycles here and there. One thing I'd rather have is two separate balls or just the 2" alone since the other ball does touch down on extreme driveways I've encountered.

My husband wanted to get some $500 name brand hefty thing. He didn't buy that monstrosity in time, so I looked around and ordered this. A year later, he LOVES it, and it's been used to pull multiple trailers on his VERY high truck. It helps immensely with the lift difference, and the interchangeable ball means all trailers fit.

I have a Dodge 2500 with a 6 inch lift and this has been the best hitch I have bought so far. I have a large camper and a flatbed trailer that is loaded max most of the time and have not had any issues with the hitch. it is super quick to change ball sizes with no tools and is great for different height trailers. I purchased this hitch before and it was stolen so after doing some shopping and research, this is the one I came back to. if you have a lifted truck and do everyday pulling, this hitch is great.

This is a beautifully made product...machine work is great and it looks very nice on my vehicle. I bought a Yukon and found it sits about 4' higher than the Silverado I traded in.....much too high for my low street rod trailer.

The Rapid Hitch is a perfect solution for my various trailers.....no more hunting for the right draw bar in my shop....just move the ball to where you need it to be.

Good quality, heavy, just wish the the adjustable sliding ball hitch had tighter tolerances because when you drive over bumps or speed bumps you hear it rattle. But other than that it's very good quality.

How to Remove the Hitch Ball(s) on a Rapid Hitch Adjustable Ball Mount
There is a pin that keeps the hitch ball(s) in place on the platform. If you remove the platform of your Rapid Hitch adjustable ball mount then you can see and easily remove the pin to remove the hitch ball(s). I have linked a review video for the Rapid Hitch # AM3413 where you can see this assembly being done at the 0:45 mark. If you need to replace this pin then it is found as part # AM3440 on our site.

Adjustable Ball Mount For GMC Sierra 2500 w/ 8 Inch Lift
In order to determine the ball mount that would work best for you, measure height of the inside top of the receiver tube to the ground. Then, with the trailer jacked so it's level, measure the distance from the underside of the coupler to the ground. Since in your case, the receiver height is taller than the trailer coupler height, you'll need a ball mount with a drop. Could Pin of Rapid Hitch Ball Mount AM3413 be Removed and Allow Trailer to Easily Be Stolen
To steal a trailer from a vehicle that was using the part # AM3413 as a ball mount would prove to be more difficult than you would think. They would have to jack the trailer up enough that there would be no load on the ball mount platform so that the pin could be pulled out. Then they would have to lower the jack far enough to slide the platform of the shank and then if the coupler was locked to the ball would have to have the shank of the part # AM3413 to then reverse that process on...

Troubleshooting Hitch Ball Pin Removal on Rapid Hitch Adjustable Aluminum Ball Mount
The pin on your # AM3413 drops in during the installation so the only thing that would be preventing its removal is dirt or corrosion. It looks like you're already trying to pull it out using the threaded hole in the end so my only suggestion would be to try something like WD-40. Spray it into/around the pin hole and let it sit overnight so it can penetrate down in there. After you have given it some time try removing it again.

Single Ball Recommendation for a Rapid Hitch Adjustable Ball Mount # AM3451
I have a perfect solution for you. You will want the Rapid Hitch Ball, part # AM3454. This will replace the dual ball set of your # AM3413 with just a single 2-5/16 inch hitch ball. This way you will be able to keep your ball mount, use it with as much drop as you need, and won't have your ground clearance reduces as much.

Can the Rapid Hitch Adjustable, Aluminum Ball Mount # AM3413 be Used in a Dual Hitch Receiver
First, make sure that your dual receiver can be used with a tow dolly. Many dual receivers are for tow bar use only. A tow dolly will have more tongue weight than a tow bar with a car being flat towed 4 down. If your dual receiver is compatible then yes, you could insert the adjustable ball mount # AM3413 provided that the receiver accepts 2 inch accessories. Be sure to go by the tongue weight capacity of the lowest rated item in the system.
