Durable Acrylic Enamel Finish
The wheel on this assembly has a durable acrylic enamel finish on the front. The finish is applied after the wheel goes through an environmentally safe zinc phosphate pre-treatment and is coated with an e-coat primer layer. Compared to powder coat finishes, this finish resists getting chipped from flying road debris or scraped from hitting a curb for a longer period of time. These acrylic enamel wheels performed for more than 1,000 hours in salt spray tests.
The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. This also eliminates the need to constantly retorque the lug nuts.
Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.
Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster Provider ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire in a Load Range E, mounted on this 15 inch Vesper Silver Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the six on five and a half inch bolt pattern. Now this tire and wheel assembly's ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and even campers. Now on this assembly, the tire is match mounted and balanced to the wheel for ride, comfort, durability. And match mounting of tire's and wheels is a process in which the tires installation position on the wheel is specifically selected to minimize the final force of imbalance.
The method of match mounting is to align the tire's lightest spot with the wheel's heaviest spot to eliminate most of the radial force that can cause tire and suspension wear. Then the final balancing is done by applying weights to specific spots on the front. You can see them right here on the front. And if we spin it around onto the back, you'll be able to see it there on the back. This will eliminate any chance of uneven wear vibration.
The wheel itself is a steel wheel. It is a modular design, and by that we mean it has the round holes all the way around. It is sturdy and corrosion resistant. They do use a silver acrylic enamel finish on it, which will resist chipping and other damage better than your powder coat finishes. And the finish is applied after a zinc phosphate pretreatment, and it covers an e-coat primer layer.
Does give the excellent corrosion resistance. Has a salt spray rating of more than a thousand hours. Now the measurement on the wheel, the dimer is 15 inches. The width on just the wheel is six inches wide. Bolt pattern is a six on five and a half inch bolt pattern.
And if you wanna measure that bolt pattern on a wheel like this that's an even number of lugs, it's pretty simple because the lug holes are directly across from each other. So just pick any hole, let's say this one. Measure from the center of the starting hole to the center of the hole right across from it. On this, it'll measure five and a half inches. So that means it's a six on five and a half inch hole pattern. The wheel lug size this uses is a half inch by 20. And the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,835 pounds. Now if you notice, it does not come with a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately. You do want to get one that'll have the same diameter as this pilot hole, because when you install your cap it'll go through this hole, the diameter of this pilot hole is 4.25 inches. Now the tire that's on it, it is a radial tire. Means it's constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice, long life. It is great for highway use, and they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay around the tire to help prevent tread separation. Now we mentioned, this is an ST tire, which is a Special Trailer tire. Has sturdy sidewall so that it can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on other vehicles. The tire size, which will be stamped on the sidewall. ST, for Special Trailer, ST225/75R15. The R means it's a radial. So the section width on this is 8.8 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top where it's inflated 28.3. And this is a load range E tire, which means it's a 10 ply rated tire. So it has a maximum load capacity of 2,830 pounds at 80 PSI. Now they do offer a speed rating on this and it is stamped on the sidewall, but it is stamped in a letter designation. And where you'll find that it's right after the tire size, you'll see two numbers for the load index. And then you'll see the letter M. Speed rating M will mean this is an 81 mile per hour speed rated tire. This whole assembly does meet the DOT, Department of Transportation specifications, and it will exceed federal motor vehicle safety standards. One last thing is they do offer a two year platinum plus warranty, which will include emergency tire change service and other benefits.
