This light puts out a clean, even glow thanks to its 16 amber LEDs and Miro-Flex faceted reflector design. The LEDs last up to 50 times longer than traditional bulbs and draw less power—just 0.248 amps for the turn signal and 0.074 amps for the side marker at 12.8 volts. That means you’ll get bright, efficient illumination without stressing your wiring or batteries. The clear lens with amber diodes gives it a modern look while keeping it functional day or night.
Water intrusion ends the life of most lights fast, but not this one. The housing and lens are sonically sealed into a single waterproof unit that’s fully submersible. Even if you back into water or deal with heavy rain, moisture won’t reach the diodes or circuit board. It’s a dependable choice for trailers that deal with tough or wet environments.
Mounting this light is straightforward. It installs flat against the trailer surface using standard hardware (not included), so there’s no need to cut large openings. The mounting holes are spaced 4-13/16" center to center for a secure fit on most flat surfaces. The 3-wire pigtail makes hookup simple, giving you separate connections for ground, side marker, and turn signal functions.

With its P2 rating, this light provides a focused 90-degree total beam—45 degrees to each side of centerline—so it’s clearly visible from the front but not designed to be seen from extreme side angles. That makes it ideal as either a side marker or mid-ship turn signal where directional control matters most.
The clear polycarbonate lens and housing stand up to impacts and corrosion that would quickly damage lesser lights. Combined with long-life LEDs and a lifetime LED warranty, this light is built to keep working season after season without bulb replacements or fading output.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number MCL48CAB. This is Optronics LED Trailer Side Marker Clearance Light with Midshift turn signal capability. This is going to be sonically sealed with a waterproof design, so it is submersible. We're going to have yellow or amber LEDs with a nice clear lens. It's also going to use miroflex technology, so that design is going to provide increase light output. Here at the backside, we're going to have a 3-wire design, so white wire is going to be our ground, black wire's going to be our power lead, and then the red wire's going to be for the turn signal. This is a P2 rated light that meets SAE and Department of Transportation requirements.
We're going to have the polycarbonate lens and housing. It's going to contain a total of 16 LEDs, that LEDs are going to be great replacements for incandescent lights that are going to last longer, they're going to burn brighter, and they're going to be much more efficient. You don't have to worry about replacing the bulbs and you don't have to worry about brittle filaments. When it comes to the power drill, it's going to be at 12.8 volts for the side marker. A 0.074 amps and for the turn signal is 0.248 amps. Let's take a look at the overall dimension real quick starting with the overall length.
Measuring from edge to edge, that's going to give us a measurement of about 5 11/16 of an inch. The width is going to measure right at 2 inches, and then the depth from back to front is going to give us the depth of about 1 3/8 of an inch. Surface mount design, you're going to have two mounting locations, one on each ends. Mounting hardware is not included, those mounting holes is going to be separated on center. That looks to be 4 and 13/16 of an inch, and Optronics is going to put a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. Let's go and hook it up to our external power source, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it.
We'll also be able to turn off our overhead lights so you can see it in a low light setting. You can see here, it's in that really nice consistent signal. Again, 16 diodes or LEDs in the neuroflex design, really does help optimize light output as well as the multidiode design. Now, when we apply our turn signal, you can see how that illuminates for a stronger signal output. Really nice light.
That's going to do it for today's look at part number MCL48CAB from Optronics.

Exactly what I ordered.
It’s a big light.... seems well made.... haven’t installed it yet. But they are bright.
GOT THEM EARLY AND IT WAS WORTH THE WAI T....THANKS,
We were very satisfied with the service and quality of product that we ordered from etrailer.
Very good product, I will recommend this light to anyone who wants to upgrade a boat trailer.
I was looking for a clear/amber marker/signal light for my truck front custom bumper. I liked the fact that these were rectangular on the raised part of the light, because it was always my intention of using them in a reversed flush mount position. They were a little pricy, but I have had Optronics led's before and they seem to hold up well. The fact that they are clear when not on blends well with the factory lights and light bar on the bumper.
