Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Optronics Mini Sealed LED Marker Clearance Light. This sonically sealed waterproof light functions as a side marker, or clearance light for your trailer. It is a surface mount installation. You can mount it horizontally, or vertically, whatever works best for your application. Mounting hardware is not included. This is a LED system.
LEDs make great replacements for incandescent lights. They last longer, burn brighter and they're more efficient. With LEDs, you don't have to worry about changing bulbs or worry about brittle filaments. This is an amber light, so it has a nice, durable amber polycarbonate lens. It's a single wire design for power.
And in the unit grounds through the mounting hardware. Again, mounting hardware not included.It is a PC and P2 rated light. It's SAE and Department of Transportation compliant. Taking a look at the overall measurements real quick, and then we'll hook it up to power so you can see what it looks like with power running to it. Edge to edge going this direction measures about two and a half inches.
Top to bottom is about one and one sixteenth, and the overall thickness of the unit gives a measurement of about, I'm going to say nine sixteenths, to five inches. Or excuse me, nine sixteenths to five eighths of an inch thick.The mount holes are separated on center by one an three quarter inches. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power. That way you can see what it looks like with power running to it. And then we'll also be able to turn off overhead light so you can see it in a low light setting.
So you can see here that it sends out a nice, bright, consistent signal. Again, it is an LED light. But when it comes to the power draw at 12.8 volts we're looking at 0.06 amps and Optronics puts a lifetime warranty on the LEDs.And that's going to do it for today's look at the Mini Sealed LED Marker Clearance Light.

So far this license plate light has worked flawlessly! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that I thought the original light (same or very similar light) would last "forever" considering how much we use the trailer. In any case, this light thoroughly illuminates the license plate, so it's easy to see for the toll cameras in our area! I really appreciate the support and products that etrailer supplies. The other lights on my trailer (tail, turn, brake, clearance) have worked great, as long as I maintain a good ground connection on the wiring! I recently had a problem with intermittent lights (blinking on and off), that I eventually traced to a bad ground wire INSIDE the trailer-side wiring connection. I replaced the trailer-side connection, re-spliced the other wires, and wired everything through a weatherproof junction box that I bolted (drilled and tapped) to the side of the trailer tongue. The new ground wire is fastened securely to one of the threaded/bolted connections and seems to be working well so far. I used wired nuts to connect the other wires inside the weatherproof box, so it will be easy to replace connectors if they fail in the future.

A couple of years ago, I converted a single jet-ski trailer to a kayak trailer to hold my two kayaks, and installed new LED stop/turn/brake lights and clearance lights from etrailer.com. The lights worked great, and I used the trailer for a couple of years before I realized that I was missing a light for the license plate! I'm surprised I never got pulled over by the police! etrailer.com came to my rescue again with this great LPL31CB license plate light. It's very bright and really lights up the plate and the ground around the back of my trailer. Recently I added three more small red clearance lights at the back of my trailer, so the tailgaters and crazy drivers have no excuse about seeing my trailer! Very strong led light. And very multi purpose. Built a toy hauling trailer for a friend that need some extra light for loading up after dark, and liked to be able to keep a eye on his load after dark. These worked out great, also used some to light up some quads. Very bright for as small as they are. Oh and there are 26 lights on the trailer. Lol no problems with any of them.

Bought the Optronics Sealed Trailer Light, UL95CB, as a replacement for my boat trailer's backup light and paired it with a Optronics Mounting Bracket, A91BB. The combo was a perfect replacement and fit. Installation was easy with stainless steel rivets. Etrailer.com had the best price BY FAR and the products were received prior to the estimated delivery date.

I purchased this light to replace a cargo trailer light. It isn't a exact match but pretty close. It gets the job done and unless you know the light is different no one will know. Light looks the same as the original.

- Do Optronics MCL14 and MCL13 Trailer Lights Use the Same Brackets/TrimYes, I checked with Optronics and the Mini Sealed LED Horizontal-Vertical Marker/Clearance Light # MCL14AGB that you referenced uses the same trim pieces or mounting brackets as the # MCL13A2B that you referenced. For a black snap on ring the part # A13B2B would fit.
