Jeff Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Lippert installation kit for the Road Armor tandem-axle equalizers. Now this kit'll replace the shackle assemblies, the wet bolts, the nuts on your trailer's tandem axle suspension that has the Road Armor equalizers. Now, if you also need the Road Armor equalizers we do sell those separately on our website. Now, basically in a multi-axle system, the shackles is what'll link the springs and the equalizers in the suspension system. The shackles'll handle most movement and weight in a suspension setup, therefore they are the most likely component to wear, and they should be checked frequently.
Now, the shackle bolts, these are what holds the shackle straps to your leaf springs and to your equalizers, and normally it has only dry bolts, which over time could wear out and fail. This kit here uses the wet bolts. Going to zoom in and show you what we're talking about. These wet bolts have a grease Zerk fitting on the end that allows you to attach your grease gun to it, pump grease inside the bolt, and it'll come out this hole here and lubricate your bushings. And that keeps wear from happening at your connection points.
Now, this does also come with the 1/2 inch thick shackle straps. The kit does contain everything. I laid out here on the table. It comes with the eight, 3/8, 3 1/8 inch long by 1/2 inch wide shackle straps. And when we say 3 1/8 inch long, what we're measuring is from the center of this hole to the center of that hole.
So you can see if we put a ruler on it, center to center, it's 3 1/8 inches. Also comes with eight, right here, these eight, 9/16 diameter by 3 3/8 inch long wet bolts. Comes with six of these 9/16 diameter by 2 7/8 inch long wet bolts. And then you can see it has the 14, 7/16 size flange lock nuts. But that should do it for the review on this Lippert installation kit for the Road Armor tandem-axle equalizers..

Includes shackles, wet bolts, and hardware.Haven't installed yet, hopefully in the next 6 weeks when it warms up. I was disappointed that there were no bronze bushings included, as the MORyde kit. So now I need to find 4 bronze bushings for the outer spring ends. Always something. I am so tired of incomplete items and things that don't work. This is the 2nd eTrailer review in 5 minutes that was disappointing. Apparently a sign of the times.
Jenny N - 02/15/2022Nice sturdy equipment. Lippert shipping prep fails again with how this is shipped. All equipment in a quart size zip lock baggy. The bolts that were placed have to be pounded out to be positioned correctly for the grease port. The zirc fittings are not consistent with the set depth of their placement.

I was happy to find the parts I needed and get them long before the appointment for installation....
Well, everything arrived and just in time. Shipping was delayed as it said it would arrive early, but it ended up arriving based upon the original date. All the parts and pieces were there and now time will tell on if it serves its purpose. I do know I will feel better driving on national forest roads with this vs the OEM suspension.
