Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Great service. Great product. Received delivery less than 48 hours after ordering. My son is visiting from PHOENIX and he installed the hidden hitch on my wife's highlander in less than one hour. It looks great, but haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. Thanks to your company for such great service. Merry Christmas to you all.

2008 Toyota Highlander

After having watched the installation video I thought, yeah, sure, less than an hour to install, maybe if you own a car lift. Boy was I surprised when I shimmied my fat but under the rear of my 2008 Highlander to install this. It was so simple and intuitive I could not believe it only took me about 30 minutes.

by:

Well built, quickly delivered, easily installed. Just wish they included a wiring harness.

by:

Was as advertised, No surpriseI had it installed by local Draw-Tite dealer. All went well. Seems to work as it should. Installer did not remove right side cover. So still have shield on right side. The wiring was tricky, had to know how to remove panel in cargo area.

by:

Ordered receiver Tuesday night (great price), received it Thursday evening (free shipping), installed it Friday evening (20 minutes with help).

I also liked that I was able to review the install instruction for each receiver on the info page. It made it easy to find the one I needed.

Staff also kept me informed of order status all the way to receiving.

by:

Product is Excellent. Shipping as expected. Sma Note: Box corners were damaged and should be reinforced. Will save you headaches from future returns as hitch is heavy and box got pretty thrashed.

Definitely would do business again. Thanks

by:

Fast delievery ,fit was perfect right out of the box.representitive answered all questions on the phone.I modefied the plastic panels that had to be removed for insallation so I could reinstall them. I am very happy with my purchase, price was the lowest and for a aftermarket hitch I would call etrailer agian.

Easy InstallThe install of this hitch on an 08 Highlander was very easy. Since it is fairly big you will want to get a second set of hands to make it go even quicker. I have been very impressed with the service from etrailer.com, their installation instructions, and the order processing.

by:

had to have it professionally installed. it is a) heavy and b) the bolts on the car where wicked tight!!

once it was installed (2 days after it arrived), made immediate use of it. It was simple to use and the bike hitch did the job. glad to have purchased it.

  • Recommended Weight Distribution System for 2011 Toyota Highlander
I do have an option for you but not all trailer hitches are designed for use with a weight distribution system. The only two that are for a 2011 Toyota Highlander are the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader part # 75726 and Max-Frame part # 75586. Furthermore, the weight distribution system will need to have trunnion spring bars as the round ones sit too low to the ground. A good system for this vehicle will be Reese Weight Distribution System part # RP66540. Unfortunately, the trunnion bars systems...

  • Replacement Rubber Straps For The Rhode Gear 4 Bike Hitch Shuttle Bike Rack
I called my contact at Yakima and they informed me that they currently do not make nor stock replacement parts for the Rhode Gear 4 Bike Hitch Shuttle anymore. However, I suggest trying the Replacement Rubber Straps for Yakima BedRoc and Older Big Horn Models part # Y8820103 as these are very similar to your current support straps and according to the Yakima representative, should work for you. I would also agree with this statement as they do look very similar though, but since they have...

  • Weight Distribution Hitch System For a 2013 Toyota Highlander
To determine if you will be able to use a weight distribution hitch on your 2013 Toyota Highlander you will want to check the data tag on the receiver. This tag will tell you if your receiver is rated to be used with a weight distribution hitch. If it does not state a rated weight capacity with weight distribution it is not to be used with such. Since the owners manual does specifically state that you cannot use a weight distribution hitch you can install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2012 Toyota Highlander with a 19 Inch Full Size Spare Tire
We do have one trailer hitch option that will fit the 2012 Toyota Highlander with a 19 inch spare tire. Take a look at Curt trailer hitch, # 13534. This hitch has been determined to fit with the full size, 19 inch spare tire. I have included a link to the installation instructions, a video showing a typical installation, and a picture that shows the hitch installed. If you plan on doing some towing I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls,...

  • Trailer Hitch for a 2009 Toyota Highlander with 19 Inch Spare Tire
In order to retain the full size (19") spare tire on your 2009 Toyota Highlander you will want to use the Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75726, not the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75586. The manufacturer of the Max-Frame has informed us that this hitch should not be used on vehicle's with 19" spare tire which we must aide by even though you have had other dealerships tell you otherwise. I cannot go against what the manufacturer states but you...

  • What are the Torque Ratings for a Hitch Installed on a 2008 Toyota Highlander
Though it will depend on the hitch you have installed, all of the M10 bolts for the Draw-Tite # 75726 and 75586 should be torqued to 42 lb-ft. The Curt # 13534, which also uses M10 bolts, should be torqued to 48 lb-ft. If you installed an EcoHitch, like # 306-X7137, the M10 bolts should be torqued to 60 lb-ft. This should be checked every now and then to make sure everything is secure. I generally recommend doing so at the beginning and end of the towing season.

Both the Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13534, and the Draw-Tite Hitch, # 75726 for a 2008 Toyota Highlander will install in very much the same way. I have included installation instructions for both hitches below for comparison. I have also included video links showing installation of each hitch. • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2011 Toyota Highlander
In order to carry bikes on your vehicle, you will either need to add a roof rack or a trailer hitch. At this time, there are no trunk mount bike rack options that will fit a 2011 Toyota Highlander. The bike racks can not be secured to the top of the rear hatch properly. I recommend adding a trailer hitch because it is more versatile and cost effective than a roof rack. I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 75586, because it does not require the use of a stabilization strap when using...

In order to use a hitch mounted bike rack on your 2008 Toyota Highlander you will first need a trailer hitch for which I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75586 because it does not stick out quite as far as the other options for your Highlander and it is a custom fit so no drilling is required. Both the Curt Class III Hitch Receiver # 13534 and the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch # 75586 are confirmed to fit your 2008 Toyota Highlander Sport and feature 2 inch receivers that will sit pretty much in the same location beneath the rear bumper on the vehicle. • Hitch Fit on 2010 Toyota Highlander with Full-Size Spare
The Toyota Highlanders that we have had here for hitch installation, including several model years from 2009 on up, have all had full-size spare tires mounted underneath the rear of the vehicle but it is possible for the vehicle to have a small spare, or donut. The easiest way to find out is to look under the vehicle. Some of our hitches will fit just fine with the full-size spare but others such as # 75586 will only allow the donut spare to be re-installed after the hitch is mounted.
