I love having the hitch on my cobolt, works great, very useful.

by:

The hitch install went well , some small unexpected adjustments , caused by the battery mounting in the spare tire compartment. Obviously not your fault . Hitch and wiring all work flawlessly !

A recommendation of drill bit type with image would have helped

The drill bits needed are always listed in the instructions for receiver hitches. For this hitch, a 1/2 inch drill bit is needed.

  • Which Curt Trailer Hitch Fits a 2010 Chevy HHR
Curt Trailer Hitch, # 11430, is designed to fit various years and models of the Chevy Cobalt coupe and sedan but not the Chevy HHR. For a 2010 Chevy HHR the correct Curt trailer hitch is # 11447. I have included links to the instructions and a video showing a typical installation for you. The hitch comes with the correct ball mount, hitch pin, and clip. If you plan on doing some towing you can use 1-7/8 inch ball # 19256 or 2 inch ball # 19258. For trailer wiring use # 118407. I have linked...

  • Does the Bumper have to be Trimmed on a 2010 Chevy Cobalt to Install a CURT Trailer Hitch
According to the installation instructions which I have linked for you, you will not need to trim any of the rear bumper or fascia to install CURT Trailer Hitch, # 11430. The rear air dam needs to be removed but nothing is trimmed. This hitch comes with a ball mount, pin and clip. If you plan on doing some towing you will need a ball and trailer wiring. For a ball, use # 19256 (1-7/8 inch diameter) or # 19258 (2 inch diameter). For trailer wiring, use # 118398. I have included a link...

  • Compatibility of 2-Inch Cargo Carrier with 1-1/4-Inch Class I Trailer Hitch on 2010 Chevy Cobalt
Thank you for your hitch purchase from etrailer. Your 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt is equipped with 1-1/4-inch light-duty Class I hitch # C11430 and this has a 200-lb tongue weight (TW) capacity. You do not want to use an adapter for a 2-inch cargo carrier because that adapter will cut your hitch's capacity by 50-percent, which is 100-lbs. This means that if you used an adapter like # HTAD your combined cargo weight plus the weight of your cargo carrier itself could not exceed 100-lbs total....

  • Will Curt Hitch for 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt Fit with Aftermarket Exhaust
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11430 is only confirmed for a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt with factory exhaust. If you have an aftermarket exhaust there is no way for us to confirm fit so you'll need to be aware that modifications may be need. Unfortunately, trailer hitch manufacturers don't design/test with aftermarket exhaust as there are too many variances from manufacturer to manufacturer.

  • Curt Trailer Hitch for 2009 Chevy Cobalt to Use with Wheelchair Carrier
For your 2009 Chevy Cobalt you will need either the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch # C11447 if you have the SS model or the Curt # C11430 if you do not. Both of the above Curt options for your Chevy Cobalt feature a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. This will work for your wheelchair carrier only if the combined weight of both the carrier itself and your wheelchair falls below this limit. I have attached the written installation instructions that you can check out as well.

A Replacement Hardware Kit, part # RHK, is available for your hitch # C11430. You will need to provide the name of the hitch manufacturer which is Curt in your case, as well as the part # C11430. This Kit includes all of the hardware needed to mount the hitch on your 2009 Chevy Cobalt.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sedan
First place to check is the how many doors do you have? 2 doors equals coupe and 4 equals sedan. Do you see any badges at the rear of the vehicle on the trunk that say SS or Sport? If you can get back to me with that info I can see what you'd need.

  • Choosing the Correct Trailer Hitch and Accessories for a 2008 Chevy Cobalt LT1
For the 2008 model year, the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24756 fits the Sport, Sport Sedan, and SS Coupe models of the Chevy Cobalt. If you have a regular sedan or coupe model you would need the Curt hitch # C11430. The underside of each may look similar but the mounting locations and hitch design are different which is why there are different hitches for each. I have included links to the installation instructions for both hitches for you to view. If you require the first hitch, 24756,...

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring Recommendation for 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt
We offer light-duty 1-1/4-inch Class I hitches for the various versions of the 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. The correct hitch for your particular car will depend on which version you drive. You can use the linked page to select your vehicle style. Use the drop-down menu tool at the top of the page to choose your particular Cobalt. For example, for the standard coupe (not the Sport or SS) or for the sedan (not the Sport) use Curt # C11430. For the Sport or SS coupe use # 24756 if you need an...

  • Weight of Curt Trailer Hitch part # C11430
The weight of the Curt hitch part # C11430 is 23 lbs. You should also note that hitches and ball mounts don't factor into the towing capacity of a vehicle. The hitch basically becomes part of the vehicle's frame so it's weight would be not be on the trailer side of the equation.

  • How to Carry Four Bikes on 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sedan
If your Cobalt sedan is a Sport Model, I would recommend the Draw-Tite Class I receiver, part # 24756. For a non-Sport model, go with the Curt Class I, part # C11430. However due to the very limited weight capacity of the Class I receiver, both the hitch and bicycle rack manufacturers all agree that any bike rack used on a Class I receiver should not be used to carry any more than two bikes. Carrying additional bikes can place the weight of the bikes too far away from the hitch, causing...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt Sedan
The trailer hitch that I recommend for your 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt sedan is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11430. This custom-fit trailer hitch lets you tow a light trailer or carry a bike rack or cargo carrier with your Chevrolet Cobalt. For a ball mount you want # 3594 along with the pin and clip # PC2. For a 1-7/8 inch diameter ball use # 19256. For a 2 inch use # 19258. For trailer wiring, use # 118398. I have included links to the instructions for...

  • Confirmed Hitch Fits for 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt Standard Sedan
The three 1-1/4-inch Class I hitches offered for your 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt sedan (the non-SS version) are shown on the linked page. Hitch # 24756 does not fit your vehicle. This fits only 2010 SS Coupe and SS Sedan models. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11430. These two hitches use different mounting points on the two vehicles and so they are not interchangeable.

  • Parts Needed to Tow Trailer with a 2008 Chevy Cobalt Sedan
These are great questions that I would be happy to help you with! First you would want to start with a trailer hitch for your 2008 Chevy Cobalt sedan. For that you would want the part # C11430. This is a confirmed fit for your vehicle, and it comes with a ball mount and a pin and clip. For hitch balls you would need either the part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball or # 19256 for a 1-7/8 inch ball. The trailer you plan to tow will be how you determine which ball you would need. If you contact...

  • Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 1998 Honda CR-V/2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt/Pontiac G5
For starters, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C11430 is for a 2005-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt and the 2005-2006 Pontiac Pursuit. If you instead have a 1998 Honda CR-V which is what you entered into our fitguide then you will want to use the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 13314 instead. Even if you will not be towing anything heavy you will still want to use the largest trailer hitch available as that will give you the best performance and availability of accessories. Regardless,...
