Ez install, works as it should.

The receiver is exactly what I was looking for. Put it on a 2016 chevy traverse and it is the right length for pulling a trailer. Looked at 6 1/2 inch, too short. Quality is good also. I give it 4 stars.

by:

The Ball Mount was noisy upon hitting bumps, uneven road, etc.
I have since gone to a shorter, dampened ball mount but I have to remove the spare tire when I use it!!!
Ruben

by:

Product works okay as the o.d. is small and makes a sloppy fit to the receiver.

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

Very nice, good quality ball mount. Will work great to tow my car trailer.

Comments
The hitch ball mount has done an excellent job. I bought a new Chevrolet Colorado last. Came with the tow package but I needed a ball mount for the receiver. I found one with the exact amount of on your website. Once I got everything set up, I towed a car trailer with a car in it from California to South Park with no problems whatsoever. High quality products at a reasonable price.

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

I needed an extended ball mount for my new Jeep in order for my utility trailer tongue to clear the rear mounted spare tire. Item is as described on the web site and was received earlier than expected.
etrailer has great customer service and is my number one go to place for towing and trailer supplies.

Simple and solid. I mainly use it to pull a wood splitter around my property and other locations.

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

Great products and service. I was able to order everything I needed to add a tow hitch and ball to my 2006 Jeep liberty. Very fast shipping. They even called me to verify orders and availability. Clear and easy to follow installation instructions. I hauled an [retailer] trailer from Texas to Ohio without any issues. Even bought a trailer and use it frequently for hardware stoe runs.

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

Overall, I have to say that I am satisfied although not particularily impressed. The finish on the ball mount is mediocre ... there are several spots where the paint is chipped off for instance. It was received today and installed today with no use yet the pictures show the areas in question. You can tell by the label installation that someone who really didn't care rushed the operation. It also fit considerably looser than the Reese bar that I removed. I had to apply several turns of duct tape around the tube to make it as snug as the original. As I said, it'll do fine, just not impressed.

Comments
I havent used this bar since last May 2014 but it worked fine and I really dont have any complaints. Under the circumstances, Id probably bump it up a star on the rating although everything I said in the initial review was valid. I have since sold the bar with the bicycle rack that I sold on Craigs List.

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

Hitch is loose in receiver. I have never understood why the shaft is so short and cut at an angle. The angle cut makes it even shorter when using in a raise application. I would think having a longer shaft would help without having some special thing to keep it from wobbling.

Comments
After year it has performed well even though it moves around. I can see there are some applications not mine where a longer shaft is not going to fit. I still do not understand the purpose of the angle cut.

There is a hole!

It does appear to be a manufacturers defect. Customer service will be in touch with you.

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

The hole on the Draw-Tite Ball Mount for the receiver pin, I thought, was too far back so that the ball was allowed to stick farther out and move too much up and down and sideways.

Review from a similar Draw-Tite Ball Mount in Trailer Hitch Ball Mount

My truck is quite the workhorse! Occasionally, I need to pull a flatbed trailer for a parade or a cargo trailer for trips. Before this product, I just had a ball hitch through the back bumper. It did the job, but finally wore out. Plus, it was quite a steep angle for the trailer to lock onto to. At the recommendation of another etrailer client, he found this item for my truck, I bought it, and we installed it together. I really like how the trailer links down lower now, the mount is strong and durable, good quality, and ball accessories can be interchanged pretty easily. The video on the website was very helpful with the installation.

Used it to raise the hitch ball to level out my camping trailer while towing. It works.

  • Will Drawbar Fit 2009 Chevy Traverse?
I went out to the warehouse and measured ball mount 2923. It is 4.75 inches from the pin hole to the weld. We do have drawbars that could clear the bumper and license plate face. For example, drawbar 2736 is 7 inches from the pin hole to the weld. This may give you the clearance you need. It is a different design and a capacity of 5,000 lbs, but can get the job done for you. I have included a link to it below.

  • What is the Weight and Measurements of the Swagman Platform Style Towing Bike Rack # S64664
The shipping weight on the Swagman towing bike rack, # S64664, is 36 pounds. If you subtract packaging materials, about 5 pounds, then the rack will weigh about 31 pounds. The rack measures approximately 12-1/2 inches from the center of the receiver bar (where it attaches to a ball mount) to the wheel loops. Ball mount # 2736 is one that we often recommend for towing bike racks so you should not have any problems with it. Provided that you stay within the tongue weight capacity of the...

  • Recommended Long Ball Mount That Fits Hitch Ball with 1 Inch Shank to Use with Swagman Traveler XCS
I suggest using the Draw-Tite # 2736 ball mount. It measures 12 inches from the hitch pin hole to the ball hole and will work with your hitch ball that has a 1 inch shank. It also has a 3/4 inch rise. This will give you plenty of room along the ball mount to install the Swagman Traveler XCS Bike Rack # S64664 and still let you tow your popup camper.

  • Towing Bike Rack for a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg
This bike rack will work as long as your 2004 Volkswagen Touareg has at least a Class III trailer hitch and a drawbar that has at least 3" of space. The trailer hitch's tongue weight capacity is reduced by the weight of the bike rack and the bikes when towing. If your ball mount does not have the required clearance you could use ball mounts, # 2736 or # D-28. Extra-Long ball mounts with a Rise/Drop usually do not work because of the angled metal supporting the ball mount face.

  • 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Extension for 2014 Dodge Ram with Front Mount Trailer Hitch
I do have a solution that might work for you, though it is not an extender. An extender would reduce your tongue weight capacity of the hitch by half, so it is not the best solution for you. Instead, I recommend a long ball mount. Take a look at # 2736 as an example. It is rated for 5,000 pounds and measures 12 inches long from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. It has a 3/4 inch rise or a 2 inch drop. We also have # BM20. This ball mount measures 13-1/4"...

  • Swagman Towing Bike Rack S64664 Clearance
The base of this rack measures 3 inches long. If you only have 2 inches clearance then this rack will not mount on to your ball mount with sufficient clearance to insert the hitch pin. You could purchase an extended ball mount (see links below) or you could buy a hitch mounted bike rack and use our multi purpose ball mount to carry your bikes and allow towing of a trailer at the same time. Remember, do not exceed the tongue weight of your hitch or your towing vehicle (whichever is less)...

  • Can Thule Spare Me Bike Carrier Be Mounted On Spare Tire At Rear Of Popup Camper
The spare-mount bike racks we offer are not designed to be used on any towed trailer but I do have a solution for you. If you have a 2 inch trailer hitch I recommend a towing bike carrier like the Swagman Original Towing Bike Rack, part # S64675. This attaches to the ball mount in your trailer hitch and allows you to be able to carry up to 4 bikes between the rear of your vehicle and the camper. A longer ball mount is needed for this bike rack. You can check out part # 2736 or part...

  • Anti-Rattle Device Suggestion while using a Towing Bike Rack and Pop Up Camper
For use while towing with your pop up camper trailer and hitch mounted towing bike rack, the best option would be to use the Anti-Rattle Device for a 2 inch hitch # 63232. This device will eliminate any additional rattling by pulling the ball mount portion of the hitch to one side. It also provides a secure locking mechanism for your hitch. Please keep in mind that this locking device can only be used on hollow hitch devices, it is also advised to remove this locking mechanism when the...

  • Towing Trailer and Carrying Bikes with Motorhome
The Surco Ladder Mounted Bike Rack, part # SP501BR includes one strap that would typically be passed through the bike frames, the front wheels and around the ladder, which would prevent the wheels from spinning and would do a pretty good job of keeping the bikes in place. Adding bungees and foam padding of some sort would probably be a good idea if you are wanting to prevent the bikes from being scratched. The Swagman # S80600 would most likely interfere with a trailer, but it would depend...

  • Recommendation for a Bike Rack for Use When Towing a Trailer with a 1996 Jeep Cherokee
There are a couple of options for you to carry a bike a rack and tow a trailer at the same time. First, you can use a towing rack. I recommend the Curt Clamp-on, part # C18013. It fits around a ball mount shank. A couple of things to note about this method are the ball mount length and the tongue weight. This bike rack requires that the ball mount have a distance of 10 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole. If you need a ball mount that is compatible,...

You can use a Class III hitch like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, # 75751. Check out the installation video of this trailer hitch on a 2010 Ford Escape that I have included for you. • Solutions for Towing Forest River Roo Travel Trailer and Carrying Bikes Simultaneously
There are a few different options that might work for you. A towing bike rack can be a good option depending on the tongue weight of your camper. The Curt # C18013 used in conjunction with an extra long ball mount like # 2736 or # D-28 (choose the one with the rise or drop you're needing) might be a good option, but keep in mind that the tongue weight capacity of the hitch would be reduced by the weight of the rack and the bikes.
