Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today I'm going to take a look at this buyer's heavy duty forged ball mount for three inch hitches. Has a 21,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this ball mount will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. Basically the shank portion right here is what'll slide into your vehicle's three inch hitch receiver. And then up front here is the ball platform that'll provide a mounting point for your hitch ball.

Now the hitch ball that attaches to this is sold separate on our website. You do want to make sure to get a hitch ball that'll have a shaft diameter of one and a quarter inches. That's the size of the ball hole right here that the hitch ball will go into. This is a solid one piece forged steel construction. You can see it has a nice corrosion resistant black powder coat finish to it.

And it does offer both a drop and rise position to ensure level towing. If you use it in this position which would be the drop position a drop will be measured from the top of the shank to the ball platform, top of the ball platform. So you can see if you put a ruler on that it's going to get you about a four inch drop. Now if we do flip this over and put it in the rise position, like that would be the rise position, and basically that'll get you a two and a half inch rise and again measured from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform. So you can see two and a half inch rise.

Go ahead and just flip this back. Now the hitch pinning clip or the hitch lock that'll lock this to your hitch receiver, that is not included. You would have to supply that. The pinhole diameter here is five eighths of an inch. So you do want to make sure you use a hitch pinning clip that has a five eighths diameter pin or a hitch lock that'll have a five eighths inch diameter pin.

Application again, this fits three inch by three inch trailer hitch receivers. Maximum gross trailer weight capacity is 21,000 pound. Maximum tongue weight capacity is 2,100 pounds. And the last thing just give you the measurement from the center of that hitch pinhole to the center of the ball hole. So if we put a ruler on that, if we go center to center of the ball hole is nine inches. But that should do it for the review on this buyer's heavy duty forged ball mount for three inch hitches.
