Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this CURT heavy duty forged ball mount. Now, this is going to slide right into your three 3 inch by 3 inch trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle. Then it's gonna provide this 2-5/16 inch diameter hitch ball to connect to the coupler on your trailer so that you can tow your trailer. This pitch ball does come torqued to the factory specifications. So, you're not gonna have to worry about installing it yourself.
It's gonna have a nice and solid connection there for your trailer. This is going to provide a 4-inch drop for your trailers that sit 4 inches lower than your ball mount or your receiver tube on your hitch. So, if you do have it for a trailer that sits a little bit lower, this is going to accommodate that. So, it's gonna allow the trailer to ride nice and level as you're going down the road. So, this is a solid one piece forged steel construction.
So, it is going to give us a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds, that of course is the weight of the trailer plus the load included. It's going to give us a tongue weight or downward pressure on your hitch ball of 2000 pounds. So, it will be great for towing those heavy loads. As you can see this does have a carbide, black powder coat finish to it. So, that's going to provide corrosion resistance and make sure that it holds up well for us.
The ball has a chrome plating that is gonna provide corrosion resistance as well. This comes with a limited lifetime warranty on the ball mount itself, not on the ball. So, if you we're to have any problems, you're more than welcome to reach out to us, here at etrailer.com. One thing that's not included is going to be your pin and clip. You probably already have one for your hitch, but if not, this is just your standard 5-8th inch diameter hole.
So, you'll just need a standard 5-8th inch diameter pin and clip. We do have lots of options available here at etrailer.com We also have locking pins available. So, if you wanted to add a little extra security, make sure that people aren't gonna be able to come along and pick off with your ball mount when you're not around, we have those available as well. Now, I will say that this is a static mount, so, it's only going to provide that 4-inch drop for you. So, that's gonna work great if you are only planning on ever towing that one trailer that sits 4 inches lower. We do have adjustable ball mounts that will accommodate several different trailer heights. So, if you're gonna be towing multiple trailers that don't all have the same height, I would probably go with that route. But if you are just gonna be towing the one trailer, I think this will work great for you. So, that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..
