It is listed as only working with 1/2" thick couplers. I had one years ago that would work on variable thicknesses, eneded up losing in when moving. Was unable to find one that would snug up tight (no gap) and made of SS. My current coupler measures 9/16" thick. I took a chance and ordered this one and was very happy that it works perfectly on my current 9/16" coupler. Snugging up tightly and key come out once tight. Can't say they all will but happy I took the chance and it did work!

is screwed on/off with key inserted. Remove the key, pop the cap on and it's ready to go. Will be used to secure bikes to Swagman hitch carrier for travel and/or storage. Swagman carrier is secured to an anchored stand for storage

These seem to be made well. Yet to be seen how they hold up over time. Having several trailers, the keyed alike feature was important to me and I was able to order the lengths I needed for the various coupler types. I saw some reviews indicating that the operation of these was slow or tedious. I found that insert the key, hold the key and spin the black end was simple and quick.

Can Deadbolt Hitch Lock # 40107 be Keyed Alike to Coupler Lock
Yes, if you select "keyed alike" on the product page for the hitch lock part # e98882 and on the page for the coupler lock part # e98895 you'll get both the coupler and hitch locks keyed alike. If you had a different coupler lock in mind you'd be able to do the same thing to have it keyed the same as the # e98882.

We sure can, but the Master Lock # 605DAT lock you'd looked at isn't available keyed alike. We do have options for keyed alike coupler locks, however. I'd recommend a latch lock such as the etrailer brand # e98890 for a 7/8 inch span or # e98885 for a 1/2 inch span. The locks are constructed of stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance and are available keyed alike. Coupler Latch Lock That Cannot be Easily Cut With Bolt Cutters
Yes, the best way to deter thieves with bolt cutters is to use a very short pin lock in the latch part # e98885. This etrailer.com stainless steel coupler lock only measures a 1/2" span and will not give the thief room to use the bolt cutters to cut it off because it is too tight against the latch. As long as the hole in your latch is a 1/4" and the latch is no wider than 1/2" this will work well for you. They can also be keyed alike so you can use 1 key for your work trailers.

The best defense against bolt cutters for coupler pin locks is to go with a coupler lock that fits the coupler latch so tight that a bolt cutter couldn't fit. The part # e98885 has span of just 1/2 an inch so it would be hard to get bolt cutters on the pin to cut it.

Recommended Coupler, Coupler Latch and Locking Hitch Pins All Keyed Alike
I may have a solution for you, but those MasterLock trailer locks you were looking at unfortunately cannot be keyed alike, so you'd need some different options. For the coupler locks I recommend using the etrailer 2-5/16" coupler lock # e98894 or etrailer 1-7/8" or 2" coupler lock # e98893. For the latch lock I recommend using the etrailer # e98885 and for the locking hitch pins I recommend using the # e98882. You could have all of these parts keyed alike so you'd only need 1 key.

Recommended Trigger Lock Replacement Keys or Keyed Alike Options
The Trailer Coupler Lock - Butterfly Style # 3008 do not have specific key blanks available or a keyed alike option. You would need to simply have a similar key blank cut for replacement or spare keys. If you are wanting the trigger latch lock to be keyed alike, we don't have the butterfly style option, but I instead recommend the 7/8 inch span # e98889 or the 1/2 inch span # e98885.

The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver & Coupler Lockset # e99039 has both a hitch receiver lock and a coupler lock that are keyed alike. However, they are not stainless steel. Replacement for Deadbolt Brand Coupler Lock & Can They be Ordered With Specific Keys
I can answer each of these questions for you, and the etrailer Stainless Steel Trailer Coupler Lock - 1/2" Span # e98885 is the same as the Deadbolt RC2-SS that you previously purchased. Just part of the lock is not available for replacement, unfortunately, so you will need a new lock in its entirety. Also, specific key/lock numbers are not available so the key code you get will be random. If you want everything keyed alike you would have to get all new locks and select the "keyed alike"...

The closest I have to the 1" is the etrailer Trailer Coupler Latch Lock part # e98890 which has the 7/8" span. There is some excess threading in the lock when installing it that will allow it to work with your 1" span requirements. Unfortunately they can only be keyed alike when ordered together.
