Features to know about

Build the Axle Assembly You Need

Replacing an axle doesn't always mean replacing every component. This beam-only axle gives you the axle and straight spindles while letting you choose compatible hubs, brakes, springs, and other components (sold separately). Whether you're replacing damaged running gear or building a trailer from the ground up, you can finish the assembly with the components that match your trailer.

Super Lube Spindles Simplify Bearing Maintenance

Routine bearing service takes less work with Super Lube spindles. A grease zerk in the end of each spindle works with a dust cap that has a removable rubber plug, letting you add fresh grease through the spindle instead of removing the hubs for routine lubrication.

Underslung Suspension for a Lower Deck Height

This underslung axle positions the leaf springs below the axle, lowering the trailer compared to an overslung configuration. It's the right choice when you're replacing an existing underslung axle or building a trailer with a lower deck height.

4" Drop Spindles Help Lower the Trailer

The 4" drop spindles position the hubs higher relative to the axle beam, helping lower your trailer's deck height for easier loading and unloading. The axle also has an underslung configuration with the leaf springs mounted below the axle, making it a good replacement when your trailer requires both a 4" drop and underslung suspension.

Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Trailer Axles - 95 Inch Long Trailer Axle Beam Super Lube Spindle - LC42PK

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Lippert 95-inch-long Trailer Axle Beam with Super Lube Spindles. Now, this Lippert trailer axle is a beam-only replacement drop axle for those who are looking for a 2,500 to 3,500-pound capacity axle and you're looking to either choose your setup for the rest of your trailer or reuse the setup that you currently have for your trailer. The big thing to establish before ordering this is of course going to be fitment. So, measuring the length from hub face to hub face, this is gonna be 95 inches long, and then it's going to be 81 inches long between the spring centers. So, if those measurements match up what you're looking for for your trailer, this will be a great option for you to consider.

But some other features to point out about this axle is, this does feature a four-inch drop, and the drop spindles are going to position the wheel's mounting points higher relative to the axle beam, and that's going to allow the trailer to sit lower than it would with a straight axle. And that can provide a lower deck height, making the trailer easier to load and unload. This is also set up for an under-slung leaf spring suspension. That means that the leaf springs are going to mount underneath the axle, and that under-slung configuration and the four-inch drop are gonna be two separate characteristics. Under-slung describes where the springs mount while the four-inch drop comes from the spindle design.

Now, one useful feature is going to be the spindles here. These are Super Lube Spindles. We have a grease zerk at the end of each spindle that's going to allow grease to be fed through the spindle to help with routine bearing lubrication. Now, I do wanna point out, you see that I have grease on this spindle. That's gonna be the same for the one on the other end as well.

This grease is simply to protect this during shipping. When you get this and when you're installing this, you do wanna make sure that you wipe away, clean away all of this grease and use fresh grease when you're installing your brakes and your hubs. You don't wanna use this grease because it will more than likely be contaminated from things that it's picked up during shipping. So, again, make sure you don't use this grease, but you use fresh grease. So, with the appropriate hub and dust cap setup, you're gonna be able to access that grease zerk fitting without taking the whole hub apart.

Just add the grease. These spindles are designed to work with 10-inch by 2 1/4-inch brake assemblies, but it's important to understand that this isn't a complete ready-to-install axle package. Again, hubs, brakes, leaf springs, and the rest of the gear are going to have to be bought separately if you don't already have that. And if you don't, we do have those options here at etrailer. Now, if you think that this is gonna be the one that you're gonna need but you'd like help with installation, we can help you with that. On this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our Installer Locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. Again, my name's Andy, thanks for joining me.

  • Replacement 3,500 lbs Drop Axles w/a 95" or 85" Hub Face
Thanks for the information Gaudencio. However, I can't find individual part numbers off your trailer's VIN. I went to Pace American's website and it looks like they use 3,500 lbs drop spring axles on their utility trailers. We have two options with the different lengths that could possibly be used to replace your axle. I have listed them below: 95" Hub Face - 81" Spring Center - Lippert Trailer Axle Beam with Super Lube Spindles item # LC42PK 85" Hub Face - 70" Spring Center - Lippert...
