Today we're taking a quick look at the BulletProof Hitches shackle for three inch receivers. BulletProof Hitches makes really nice, well overbuilt products. It's going to be a very sturdy shackle to use in a recovery situation where maybe you have some shackles on your bumper but they're just not going to cut it. So this is going to be a really nice one that's going to come out a little bit further and give you a little bit more room, much more robust shackle than you typically get from your factory bumpers. It is designed to work with three inch by three inch receiver tubes and it's going to be a solid shank. It's going to be double board there, going both directions so we can use it horizontally, like I have it here, or vertically where you'd have that ring sitting up like this.
Makes it more versatile that way, we can also unthread the pin on the side so that we can take that shackle off and run it through our recovery strap if it's got looped ends, makes it easy there.Has a nice thick pin so we can easily get a hand on that, loosen it up and get to winching somebody out of the mud or whatever we need to do with our shackle. That pin is made of a hardened steel so it's going to be very sturdy, able to withstand the weight that we're going to be putting on this. The hitch pin and clip are included with this. It's going to be just a five eighths inch diameter pin with that cotter pin or with that cotter clip on the other side. We'll have two different holes to choose from to get it a little bit further out or a little bit further in, depending on our application. As far as dimensions with this, the length of the shank overall is 11 and nine sixteenths of an inch or just over 11 and a half inches long.
Going from the end there to the front of our shank portion, from our hitch pinholes to this inside edge of the shackle as far as how far out that's going to come from your vehicle, from that furthest pinhole, it's about 12 inches to the next one in, it would be about 10 and a half inches. From that hitch pin hole to there, so that tells you how far out it's going to come. As far as our usable space within that shackle, we have about three and a half inches going out and about three and a half or three and a quarter inches going across. So, three and a quarter going across. The diameter of that shackle is an inch and a quarter.
The weight capacity that this can handle is 30,000 pounds, so it should be just enough for pretty much anything that we'd be using it for.Overall, I think BulletProof Hitches makes a really nice product, very sturdy, very well built. We have this nice black powder coat, gives it a texturized finish, sort of a satin, not quite shiny look to it. Just looks really nice and mean and sturdy, and that's going to do it for our look at the BulletProof Hitches shackles for three inch receivers.

Use this heavy-duty, hitch-mounted tow loop as an attachment point for a strap, cable, or rope. Shank fits 3" hitch receivers. Powder coated steel construction is durable. Hitch pin and clip included. This thing is a beast! only used it a few times this year but it was to pull out our stuck trash trucks with a 6" wide strap or my 88K pound rated bungie rope. Only down side is it weighs 40 ish pounds I would guess. But that why its so strong.
Solid no issues
