When you want your setup to look clean when you’re not towing, this base plate kit keeps things neat. The direct-connect brackets sit even farther back than standard ones, leaving the front end with a streamlined, factory-style appearance. Once the removable arms are pulled out, the remaining brackets are virtually invisible and protected within the grille area from scrapes and scuffs.
Getting ready to tow is fast and straightforward. Each drawbar slides into the bracket, twists to lock in place, and clicks securely. When you’re done towing, built-in pull rings let you unlock the arms with a quick tug, twist them free, and pull them out. The simple twist-lock attachment makes solo hookups easier and keeps everything tight and rattle-free on the road.
This setup’s computer-cut, all-steel brackets are built for strength and precision fitment. The black powder coat finish adds a durable layer of corrosion resistance for dependable performance through miles of towing. The direct-connect design eliminates the need for a quick-disconnect crossbar, keeping your tow bar connection simple and clean. It’s compatible with Roadmaster motor-home-mounted tow bars that slide into a trailer hitch—like the Nighthawk, Sterling, Blackhawk, Blackhawk 2, Falcon, or Falcon 2—so you get a solid one-piece link between the coach and towed vehicle. Instructions and mounting hardware come included for an accurate fit that’s ready to go once installed.

I’ve pulled the Chevy behind our motor home several times over a the last year. It has worked excellent. And when not in tow the tubing is barely noticeable.

Which trim is your 2026 Chevy Trax? Per Roadmaster, the # RM25EQ (523228-5) fits all trims of the 2026 Trax except the ACTIV trim....

It’s been a great year. No problems with the base plate. Works great with my tow bar. Towed my trailblazer from Texas to North Dakota and back, and several short trips.
