A lot of hard covers make you choose between protection and full bed space, but this one gives you both. The BAKFlip G2 uses a quad-fold aluminum design that flips open in sections, so you can open just part of it or fold it all the way up for complete access. Prop rods hold the cover upright while you drive, and built-in rubber bumpers keep it from touching your cab or rear glass. When folded down, it sits low inside the bed rails and keeps the clean, flush look of the truck.

Rain, snow, or road spray are no problem with the G2. Matte black rubber seals line the edges, and a built-in drainage system channels water away through the rails. Each ½"-thick aluminum panel latches automatically when you close it, and when the tailgate is locked, everything inside the bed stays secure. The panels are tough enough that no one can peel or cut through them, so tools, luggage, or groceries stay protected wherever you go.
This cover doesn’t just look sleek—it’s built for years of use. Each panel is made from rustproof aluminum with an insulated core that adds strength and rigidity. The textured black paint finish resists UV damage and corrosion, while the aircraft-grade aluminum rails have a black powder coat for extra durability. The G2 can support up to 300 lbs of evenly distributed weight when closed, so it’s strong enough to handle the job site or weekend gear.
Opening and closing the cover is quick and easy. Just drop the tailgate and pull one of the release cords to unlatch a panel. Keep folding forward until you have the space you need. When you’re done, fold the panels back down—each one locks into place under its own weight. The system works smoothly and stays tight without extra tools or adjustments.

Installing the G2 doesn’t require drilling or complicated tools. The frame rails clamp inside the bed rails, and the front hinge rail secures with included bolts. Slotted brackets allow fine-tuning for a snug, even fit. Once it’s in place, the low-profile design keeps the sleek lines of the truck and still lets you use stake-pocket-mounted accessories or racks when needed.

Still is exactly what I hoped it would be. Adds security to my pick up bed, looks great and gets compliments. Plus it is easy to use. Great product...

After using it for a while Im extremely happy with this cover. It has been a game changer, making my 2008 Ford Ranger bed far more useable and convenient for carrying a variety of items. One of the best purchases Ive ever made for it.

After a year of use the cover still works perfectly and I would highly recommend this cover. I really like the fact that you can open up different sections without having to open the whole thing.

Hi Mardy. I have heard this to be a difficult install and the latches to be stiff (though adjusting them helps), but noisy, flimsy, and poor quality are firsts for a BAK product like this. What kind of noise are you getting? Is something maybe not tightened down all the way causing part to stick up? And, what part are you finding flimsy or poor quality?

Actually its closer to two years and I could not be more pleased. I have done a few rainy road trips and the one thing that worried me was if it would keep the contents dry and it did. Al else about the cover has been good too. Good product and it fit like a glove.

It has been holding on strong. One of the weather strips was coming undone, but I was able to adhere it back down.
