Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Dexstar 15-inch by six-inch Sportsman Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the Strata Camo Finish and a six on five-and-a-half inch bolt pattern. Now, this is a sturdy steel construction. And we mentioned it is a modular design, and when we say modular design, it's the one that has the round holes that go all the way around the wheel. They do use a powder coat finish over an e-coat primer for accident corrosion resistance. And as we mentioned, this is a true timber strata camouflage pattern on the face of the wheel.
It is a high-quality wheel. Meets the DOT, Department of Transportation, specifications. The wheel is made in the USA by Dexstar. A few measurements on this wheel. The diameter, which will always be measured inside to inside.
It's gonna be right at, there's your 15-inch diameter. The width on this wheel, again, we'll measure inside to inside of bead seat to bead seat. There's your six-inch width. And the bolt pattern we mentioned on this is a six on five-and-a-half inch bolt pattern. And if you want to measure that on the wheel, that's an even number of lugs.
It's pretty simple because the lug holes you can see are directly across from each other. So you just pick one of the holes, this one, measure from the center of it directly across to the center of the one right across from it. On this, it'll measure five-and-a-half inches, so that means it's a six on five-and-a-half inch bolt pattern. Does use a wheel lug size of a half inch by 20. And the pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center of the wheel, diameter of this opening is 4.27 inches.
And the weight capacity on this wheel is 2,860 pounds. But that's gonna do it for a look at this Dexstar 15-inch by six-inch Sportsman Modular Steel Trailer Wheel with the Strata Camo Finish.
