It’s frustrating to remove your cover every time you need to haul something tall. With the BAKFlip G2, you just fold it up. The quad-fold design opens in sections so you can access part or all of the bed in seconds. Prop rods secure the cover upright when you need full clearance for larger loads, and built-in buckles let you fasten it partway open for smaller cargo. You can even drive with it folded up against the cab without blocking your rear window.

Weather and wear are no match for this setup. The G2 uses ½-inch-thick rustproof aluminum panels with insulated cores for strength and rigidity. Matte black rubber perimeter seals help keep water out, while the built-in drainage channels route away any seepage through hoses behind the cab. The textured black paint resists UV rays and corrosion, so it keeps looking sharp even after years in the sun and rain.
Security shouldn’t take extra effort. Each panel on the G2 automatically latches into place as you close it, locking tight when your tailgate is shut. You only need to drop the tailgate and pull one of the easy-reach release cords to open a section. With the solid aluminum construction and tamper-resistant design, your gear stays protected from prying hands and bad weather alike.

Some covers spoil the lines of your truck, but this one sits flush inside the bed rails for a sleek, low-profile look. Because it mounts inside, you still have access to stake pockets and side-rail accessories like racks or tie-downs. Installation is straightforward—no drilling required—just clamp the aircraft-grade aluminum rails in place and bolt on the hinge rail at the front using a wrench. Once tightened, everything aligns cleanly for a snug fit.

The G2 isn’t just for looks—it’s tough enough for real use. When closed, it supports up to 300 pounds of evenly distributed weight, so climbing or setting gear on top is no problem. Between its heavy-duty aluminum construction, powder-coated frame rails, and smooth nylon-housed latches, this cover is made to handle years of hauling, loading, and everyday driving without losing its fit or function.

Still is exactly what I hoped it would be. Adds security to my pick up bed, looks great and gets compliments. Plus it is easy to use. Great product...

After using it for a while Im extremely happy with this cover. It has been a game changer, making my 2008 Ford Ranger bed far more useable and convenient for carrying a variety of items. One of the best purchases Ive ever made for it.

After a year of use the cover still works perfectly and I would highly recommend this cover. I really like the fact that you can open up different sections without having to open the whole thing.

Hi Mardy. I have heard this to be a difficult install and the latches to be stiff (though adjusting them helps), but noisy, flimsy, and poor quality are firsts for a BAK product like this. What kind of noise are you getting? Is something maybe not tightened down all the way causing part to stick up? And, what part are you finding flimsy or poor quality?

Actually its closer to two years and I could not be more pleased. I have done a few rainy road trips and the one thing that worried me was if it would keep the contents dry and it did. Al else about the cover has been good too. Good product and it fit like a glove.

Generally this cover continues to perform well. There is a small leak, which I haven’t been able to locate, but it’s not enough to do any harm to whatever may be in the bed. I would still recommend this cover.

It has been holding on strong. One of the weather strips was coming undone, but I was able to adhere it back down.
