These wide-base chains are built for serious traction. Each link has grooves cut into it, giving the chain extra edges to dig into snow, ice, or mud. Combined with the ladder pattern, they grab firmly as you roll forward, keeping momentum steady even in heavy winter conditions. When you’re climbing a slick grade or cutting through packed snow, that bite makes all the difference.
No more struggling to get chains snug in freezing weather. The assisted tensioning system uses cams built right into the side chain—just twist them with the included tool until the chains pull tight. Once they’re set, you’re ready to roll without constant readjusting. For an even firmer hold, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be added for extra security.

Each chain link is designed to work on both sides, so when one side starts to wear, you can flip the chains over and keep going. That simple feature helps them last much longer than standard chains. A quick rinse and dry after every use will keep them ready for the next storm.
These aren’t light-duty chains. The nickel manganese alloy steel resists corrosion and holds its shape under stress. The case-hardened finish strengthens the outer surface, adding durability against scratches and wear. Whether you’re tackling deep snow or icy road sections, these chains are tough enough to handle it.
Made specifically for super-single and wide-base-rim tires, this set includes two chains that fit 16"–19-1/2" tires. They’re purpose-built for large footprints and deep winter traction, giving you reliable performance when conditions turn rough.

These chains fit the following tire sizes:

Adam: Hi, everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Pewag Square Link Snow Tire Chains, with cam tensioners. So these chains are going to be designed for some of those more wide and thick tires that you may have, and it is going to give you an extremely aggressive grip. So it is kind of like a ladder patterned-style with these square links. They're going to wear evenly, and they're all made of the same material, which is a manganese nickel alloy steel.
So it's going to resist against that rust and corrosion and all of that salt that's on the road when there's snow. Also, it does have some cam tensioners. They're really, really easy to do and it just makes it very easy to install, because we all know if you're putting these on, you're either stuck or in some cold situations. So making it really easy to put these on is definitely a plus for me.So these square links are going to be about 5.6 mm in width. So it's going to be pretty big.
And with this cross chain pattern as well, it's going to give you about 32% more traction, compared to some of the other ones in this market. So these aren't the most aggressive chains that we get for these tires. We do have some V-Bar ones that are going to be a lot more aggressive. They're going to have more like daggers sticking out. They're going to grip a lot better, but they're going to wear a little bit more. Also, there's some twist links that we have.
It's not going to be as aggressive as our square links here, but they're going to ride a little bit smoother as well. But all of these are going to come in a pack of two. So if you have four wheel drive applications or all wheel drive, just go ahead and use our fit guide on our website, and just type in your tire size and just grab two pair.We do also recommend just grabbing one of these rubber tensioners. It does not come with your kit, but we do sell them here at etrailer.com, so it's the one stop shop.Well everyone, that's just about it for our look at the Pewag Square Link Snow Tire Chains, with cam tensioners.

These chains on my Jeep Rubicon are fantastic. I am a volunteer firefighter and EMT in the mountains of Colorado. I need to get to emergency incidents in the worst of weather. These chains make that possible.

Great! Best chains I have ever owned. Easy on easy off, full grip on and off-road. Use them regular off road on logging raids and hunting trails
