  • Resists corrosion thanks to manganese nickel alloy construction and zinc finish
  • Works on either front- or rear-wheel-drive vehicles

Specs:

  • Quantity: 2 tire chains
  • 30-Day limited warranty

Note: To determine whether you can use snow chains on your vehicle, or if they might affect your ABS/EPS functionality, consult your owner's manual.

These Titan Chain ladder-pattern snow chains are great winter weather chains for your vehicle. The cross chains have a zinc finish, further adding to the durability and longevity of these chains. The square links - which dig into snow and ice better than traditional twist links - are made of a corrosion-resistant alloy steel, so they last 2-3 times longer than standard low-carbon chains. But if you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions where you live, you may instead want a chain with square or V-bar links that can really bite into the ice for more traction.

Confirming Your Fit

If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer. You'll also need to know how much clearance is in your wheel well, which you can determine by measuring from your tire tread to the sidewall of the wheel well.

We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.

You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These chains can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.

Installing Snow Chains

Installing these chains is simple.

Lay chains on the ground to get all the tangles out

1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.

Drape chains over tire.

2. Drape the chains over your tires, making sure that the prongs attaching the cross chains to the side chains face away from your sidewalls.

Connect the chain behind the tire

3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the side chain on the front of the tire, then clamp the lever to fasten extra chain links and keep them from flapping as you drive.

Attach optional tensioners

4. Insert the included tool into the cam and twist to tighten the sidewall chain. Twist as many cams as it takes to get a tight fit.

Attach optional tensioners

5. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chain tension. Tighten any loose cams. If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to get a tight fit. Make sure the hooks on the adjusters face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.

Quick Tips:

  • Lengthen the life of snow chains by drying them after each use before you store them.
  • Check out our installation kit with safety lights and a kneeling pad (PO34FRK) to make things a little easier when you're installing chains out in the snow.

How to Choose Snow Chains for Your Vehicle

To choose the right snow chain, you must match your tire size. Those measurements can be found on the side of your tire.

Tire size on sidewall

185/60-15

  1. (185) - indicates tire width in millimeters
  2. (60) - gives you the aspect ratio (sidewall height as percentage of width)
  3. (15) - denotes the diameter of the wheel rim in inches

chains looks fine, but the bags are cheap and not reusable.

These square link will never break. HD I do not think I would want to go very far on the highway. They are stout

The cam adjusters make it easy to install. Nice product.

by:

We at Penn Twp Berks County Love them!!! They’re easy to install. Love the tightening cams. The two original sets we purchased have held up nicely. Only had to make one repair which was the hook that attaches the cross chain to the main chain. The chains we used in the past seemed to be needing a repair every few runs. So with that being the case we just purchased two more sets just to have on hand. Thank you for an excellent product!!!

Great product. Easy to install on my bobcat skidsteer tires.. Cams are very helpful in tightening and i have a couple of cams left I can still use to tighten if the chains become a little loose in use. Pushed snow around in my driveway today with ease

I was conserned about 5.5 mil chains but these will never break. Cross links are amaizing

by:

We purchased these chains for our Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 conversion. I only did a dry fit so far. I can say that these square link chains are heavy duty and appear well made. Cam tighteners snug the chains down tight and the adjusters should keep everything in place. I'll update after use.

Received excellent service when looking at various snow chain options. Chains were received within a few days from order date.

I'm happy to hear that the chains made it in time! Don't hesitate to reach out to us again whenever you need something :)

I have used these chains in Colorado on an icy road towing a trailer and in muddy conditions towing a much larger truck and trailer out of a muddy circumstance. The chains were easy to install - even in the mud and ice and performed fabulously. Make sure you tighten them up well. I have loved these chains.

You folks get 3 stars. Only because I cannot return the unused chains for a credit, (maybe to use on new chains that will fit the slightly larger tires that these chains will not fit). Will be selling these on craigs list and maybe find chains that will fit locally. Two lost sales for you, sounds like policy is starting to impact sales negativity.

Have not used them yet. To warm in the North east right now. Very nice chains. I'm sure they will work. Could us a carry bag though. I'll buy a small tool bag for them...

I received my order on the 2nd day. great response time. haven't open it yet, winter is a little ways off so i won't Know my satisfaction or dislike till that time comes I plan on this weekend to put both, the blind spot mirrors, and my boat mirror on. I live in Florida so I will know about the boat mirror soon. I bought a little Jeep wrangler for my son who lives in upstate NY (Adirondack mts.) . he owns a restaurant up there and when it snows they charge him a pretty penny to plow it.so I got to get the jeep up there, buy and install a plow for it and walla! thank you for your concern! i'll let you know how it all shakes out.

Sounds great! Make sure to practice getting the chains on and off in your driveway or garage. Kneeling in a snowbank on the side of the highway isnt the time or place to familiarize yourself with the process! For more helpful info on tire chains, take a look at the help article Ive linked for you.

Heavy duty tire chains really worked well in our snowy area. They are fairly easy to put on, and they really grip the snow, with their square chains in the gripping area. They are made of high-quality materials, and the side chains are plated. The unique adjusters are very cool, and eliminate the need for bungees to keep things tight. I am very satisfied.

1996 Dodge Ram Pickup

Awesome set of tire chains! One Winter in the books so far for these chains and they have held up well. The cam adjusters are just the ticket to keep them tight, but I still throw on a set of rubber adjusters, for even more piece of mind.

2019 Toyota Tundra

Getting ready for winter, searched the web and local tire shops for tire chains for my 2019 Toyota Tundra. I found that etrailer.com had the best prices on the above chains plus FREE SHIPPING out to Oregon. The chains arrived on the day they stated. After ups dropped them off I installed them on the Tundra to make sure of a good fit. They fit perfectly. I'll be doing more business with etrailer.com in the future! Thank you Rick

2013 Ford F-150

Received the chains promptly and I feel, for a very fair price. The day after the chains were delivered I got a text from my son with photos, both he and his girlfriend had been successful elk hunting in the mountains. He secured permission from a landowner to allow me to drive in to get closer for retrieving their 2 bulls. With a foot of snow on ice, the chains did a wonderful job getting us out and providing a secure feeling on the otherwise treacherous mountain two track. I chained up in front only (as I normally do) unless I’m in very deep snow. The cams tightened the chains well but I always use tensioners anyway for added insurance. Great job as always etrailer! Many thanks!

2016 Ram 1500

They fit very very snug and looks like they won’t break the brake line off my Ram. I did have to bend 2 cross links open and un twist 2 links of the outside chain which I believe was a manufacturing mess up causing one of the cams to dig sideways into the side wall. After that it fit a bit better and won’t damage my tire. Overall very well built and good quality! I would recommend these to anyone who has a Ram! Just check the way it fits before hitting the snow.

2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Fit nicely on 275 65 R18 Silverado. These bailed me out just today! I ordered a pair and dry fitted them on the front of my truck and there is plenty of clearance. I ordered two more so I will be able to chain up all four wheels. Can't testify to their durability, but they appear well built and they are simple to put on with the cam adjusters. Happy with the purchase.

  • Can Tire Chains be Used on a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with 265/70 R18 Size Tires
Some vehicle manufacturers do not recommend using chains because of clearance issues. Check the owner's manual of your 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 and compare your tire size. I looked up an online copy and it lists specific tire sizes to not use chains on. With that being said there are parts of the country that legally require you to have tire chains during certain times of the year or certain weather conditions. This is where the discretion falls on the driver because the manufacturer...

Both the Ladder Pattern # TC2228SCAM and Diamond Pattern # TC2524 Titan Chain snow chains are good options for a 265/70-16 size tire, but when I looked up the owner's manual for your 2020 Toyota Tacoma it stated that you need to use low clearance chains so I recommend the Titan Chain # TC2324 instead. It has the diamond pattern and square links but they are a little smaller for better clearance. The diamond pattern is superior to the ladder style because it has constant contact with the...

  • Best Snow Tire Chains for Ford F-150 in Deep Snow Colorado Weather
Square link chains are awesome! While the general rule of thumb is that twist links are great for snow situations and square links are for "snow and ice" weather, I personally think square links as the best for all-around purposes. The newer premium tire chains are usually square link chains. My favorite tire chain that fits your vehicle is the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern # TC2533. The square link chains like this do well in deep snow and off-road situations since they are larger than twist-link style chains. The Titan chains are priced great. The need for tire chains all depends on your conditions and needs for driving. Although a 4-wheel drive vehicle should perform better than others in snow you may still need chains. Also, there are parts of the country that require tire chains during certain times of the year and certain weather conditions and many of them are not specific based on your vehicle. The chains are made of manganese nickel alloy so they are very durable and the square links offer the best traction. It looks like your 2012 Ram 2500 has 5 possible stock tire options.
