Recommended Tire Chains and Placement for a 2011 Jeep Wrangler

Updated 12/28/2017 | Published 12/27/2017

Question:

Hi, I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Sport, with 255/75/17 tires. I was wondering if the TC2228SCAM chains will work on the front tires of my Jeep? If not, do you have any suggestions for similar chains that will fit the front tires?

Expert Reply:

The Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2228SCAM are a confirmed fit for the 255/75-17 tires you have on your 2011 Jeep Wrangler. However, according to the owners manual for your Jeep, tire chains can only be installed on the rear two wheels.

For a traction control device that can be used on the front two wheels of your Jeep, I recommend taking a look at the Titan Chain Diagonal Alloy Cable Snow Tire Chains part # TC751DC. This traction device is constructed of steel cables rather than metal chains which will allow for fitment on vehicles with limited wheel wheel clearance. The cables have a v-shaped pattern for improved ride quality and come with rubber adjusters to ensure a snug and secure fit.
