Had to remove the rock slide to install which was no big deal, other then that installation was easy. Steps look great quality is great I really like that they don't stick out to far so I'm not hitting my shins. Will be adding some for rear doors soon.
The steps themselves are solid, and make getting in and out of our truck easier, esp. for older folks. I have a minor issue with the installation instructions, however. In the instructions, they state:
" 8. *REFER TO DIAGRAM “A” WIRE HARNESS. Remove the plastic cover that is holding the carpet down and move the wire harness out of the way before drilling out the hole for the next step as shown on the diagram. Do
this procedure for both sides of your vehicle, because the wire harness may be on either side."
There's insufficient space to move the wiring out of the way as the hole for the sheet metal screw ends up dead in the center of the channel , so I used a piece of angle iron slipped under the wiring to protect the harness while drilling the hole. Once I installed the screw, I realized that the sharp point of the screw would be rubbing against the harness, and would eventually cause a short. To prevent this, I slipped the extra 1/4" Nyloc nuts provided in the kit over the sharp end of the sheet metal screw as shown in the photo.
I realize that there's not much room to use another type of fastener and working around the harness is awkward, but I think the sheet metal screw should really be replaced with another fastener that doesn't present a hazard to the harness. A 1/4" Torx button head bolt inserted from the top would definitely be an improvement, for example.
Matte black finish and heavy duty construction. Easy install on a 2024 2 door Rubicon and a 2024 Mojave. I would recommend laying out all the parts and organizing them. The shorter bolts are for the rear of the bracket while the longer are for the front toward the step. I would also recommend drilling the pinch weld area, attaching the bracket to the pinch weld area, and then drilling the hole for the sheet metal screw. This is perfect if you need a step but don't want to lose your rock sliders. They can be easily removed by taking off two bolts and two sheet metal screws for each side if you are wheeling. I wouldn't order from anyone other than etrailer. They are the only site with a review and install video. They offer great customer service if you run into a problem and fast shipping. I am very happy with etailer and Carr.
This worked excellent to put on an existing running board to create a half step for my wife to get into my 2012 Avalanche much easier. I had to alter it slightly to mount it but am very happy with the result.
Website was easy to use. Pricing is great quick delivery
Easy to install- less than one hour. Nice and sturdy.
Got the steps on today they look very good , my wife even said so , much
nicer for her to get in the truck.
Great fit!! Your video tutorials are always very helpful. I have bought several different items for various vehicles and have been very satisfied with product and pricing.
easy install good instructions
Product was perfect. Same great item as bought a few years ago. Works and looks great.
Product was delivered in a very timely manner..received it on Sunday morning and having the steps installed on my Toyota Tacoma on Monday..Will send pictures..I love the steps I received......
YouTube video was a great help. Shipping upgraded at no cost. Good quality product that met my needs just fine. I was impressed by level of service.
The step into my 2010 Tacoma PreRunner is not as high as a standard pick-up but is high enough to cause pain in my problem right hip when try to enter on the drivers side.
This is not a standard add-on, so don't expect to find a perfect mounting location. Loose assemble the step and brackets and move it around until both brackets fit flush on the rocker-panel. I only had to move mine a couple of inches from ideal. The step is wide enough to offset that much "error". Install the bracket with the least clearance and locate the other bracket from it. The tabs don't work. The holes are punched in the bend instead of the flat part of the tab. And one tab requires a right angle drill to get between the frame and the panel. I choose to ignore the tabs and drill extra mounting holes in the main area of the bracket as near to the tab end as possible, two on each bracket - Carr provides lots of extra hardware. It seems to have worked ok. Finished job looks good and the step does not protrude excessively though it is slightly in the way when stepping out. Just something to get used to.
This is my fourth purchase from e-trailer and, as usual, the product was of excellent quality, was made in USA, arrived quickly, was well packaged and in good shape. The correct part was ordered but the wrong brackets came with it. e-trailer accepted my claim, which was accompanied by pictures, and shipped the correct brackets quickly and issued a RMA and shipping label. I was out only a little delay in installation and trip to a UPS Store. I deducted a star for the e-trailer's picking mistake and Carr's stupid tabs. If possible, I would add back half a star for the e-trailer's quick and polite response.
This fits perfectly on a 2014 Tundra. I had trouble finding ones that fit with the way the rocker panels are angled. Worked out well and I’m very happy with the results. etrailer is a great place to search for items you need and the service is excellent.
so far so good....easy to install...just use good drill bits

Love to hear this Shannon and we appreciate you choosing etrailer!
Good quality. Made some adjustments to fit my side rails. Painted brackets and bolts. Drilled holes to fit 3/16" self tapping screws. Bent rear tab flat. Works great so far.

Still on the truck. Wife really likes the helping step. And they still retain color. No corroding from snow. Thanks again, for a great product.
