Seamless Connectivity Every Time: Standard 7-Pole Plug

Connecting your trailer to your tow vehicle can sometimes be tricky, but with the Pollak Metal 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector, it's a breeze. This standard, 7-pole plug ensures a secure connection, eliminating the worry of connectivity issues during your travels. It's all about hassle-free hookups so you can focus on the road ahead.

Built to Last: Traditional Metal Construction

Tired of replacing flimsy, breakable connectors? Crafted from heavily plated metal, this trailer connector is designed to withstand the harsh elements. It’s weather and corrosion-resistant, making it a reliable choice for long-term use. The robust build is perfect for those who need equipment that's as tough as their adventures.

Stay Safe with Superior Design: Non-Corroding, Shock-Resistant Interior

Nobody likes dealing with electrical shorts, and with its shock-resistant interior design, this connector minimizes those risks. The terminal reinforcer dams effectively prevent contact spreading, promoting safe and durable connections every time. Whether it's rain or shine, this connector has got you covered.

Straightforward Wiring for Easy Setup: Color-Coded to RV Standards

Ensuring the proper wiring can be a daunting task, but the color-coded setup simplifies everything. It follows RV standards, making installation a straightforward process, even for the less technical folks. With color-coded circuits like White for Ground and Blue for Electric Brake, you’ll have everything hooked up and running in no time.

Maximum Protection for Your Equipment: Vinyl Inserts Keep Out Dirt and Moisture

Your connectors are shielded from unwanted dirt and moisture thanks to the vinyl inserts. They maintain the integrity of your connections, ensuring your lights and brakes operate without a hitch, regardless of the conditions you encounter. This feature is all about providing peace of mind for worry-free towing.

Effortless Disconnects: Jumbo, Welded Pistol Grip

Good Product. Much better than the plastic ones.....

by:

Product received as advertised and very quickly

by:

Only "metal" plug end I've found. The plastic ones don't hold up. I've used many types to no avail. So went with this. Wish it was a stainless housing though. The plastic pin casing is only held in by one set screw on one side, so it sits very loosley in the housing. We'll see how it holds up to time and use.

by:

The trailer hitch electrical connector works well; fast shipping.

by:

E trailer and items soldThe products were accurately described, I got just what I was expecting. I can not give long term performance evaluations but so far the parts fit perfectly and are doing just fine.
The communication has been excellent, and the shipping was fast.

by:

This looks to be a decent quality part. It works as it should. I wanted a close as possible look for a 71 c10 and this is about all that is available. Not only would the plastic not suit the older truck, they are more bulky and plastic breaks if you bump it. I’m satisfied so far.

Love the look of that type of truck! It would be fun to see the whole truck if you felt like sending in another photo :) I think this new connect will blend right in.

by:

Very well made. Has Held up well. Seems to be much better that the plastic alternatives

by:

These are really great quality. I always go to E Trailer first.

by:

Works great and heavy duty. Bought this due to our 2022 Chevy 2500HD showing a warning message that our 5th wheel was not connected and then it was connected. So we replaced the plug connector with this. This was not the problem. It was loose wiring in the electric box. Rewrapped all the wires and works perfect now. We do like the metal connector though. It’s stronger and feels more secure than the hard rubber one.

by:

By appearance it is a quality replacement plug for the trailer end plug, I would give it 5 stars except that it has a single set screw to hold the piece that has the electric contacts into the outer shell when tightened causes the center section to tilt, to prevent this the fit between the two parts needs to be a snug fit not the very loose tolerances it has.

by:

I been looking for a metal plug-in for a while. Seems like the plastic ones get brittle and brake over time. Seems to be made of good quality.

by:

Received exactly what I ordered...very fast delivery. Thank you for your prompt, accurate service.

Holding up well. I use it every other weekend.

by:

really not sure now after a year how it all went down...I think I ended up using it for my trailer b/c I had to chop off the molded plug that came with my trailer to do a upfit and consequently needed a new plug. Still in use so I guess it's doing it's job.

by:

Great plug. I'm going all metal with my installations on trucks and trailers. The strain relief is especially effective to prevent cable from pulling on screw connections. Brakes are important.

by:

I AM GRADUALLY REPLACING ALL THE PLASTIC WORTHLESS TRAILER PLUGS WITH THESE GUYS !ALSO EXCELLENT PRODUCTS

by:

I had one of these on boat trailer. Slides in so nice with a click, unlike plastic ones that swell and go in kinda wonky. Swapped both other trailers to this style, well worth it.

by:

Got tired of always having to replace the plastic plugs on the trailer that sets more than it gets used and the sun makes the plastic ones brittle so I went to the metal you guys had a good price and quick delivery thanks

by:

Both male and female connectors are good quality!

by:

Connector connector doesn't rust, break, corroded and terminal don't short out like the plastic ones do.

by:

These plugs are the toughest plugs i have found. I own a small rental company so my trailers take a lot of abuse.

Thanks
Paul Schroeder

by:

Great parts; best price; Fast shipping

by:

Fast shipping and excellent service.

by:

This was a substitute for another product but I prefer the plastic one for my application.

by:

Seems to be of good quality. I replaced a plastic one that was broken. Yep, if it's plastic it will break....

  • Does Pollak Metal 7-Pole Have Latch that Lid Holds it Into Socket
Hey Don, unlike the plastic 7-way plugs the Pollak part # PK12702 does not have a raised edge that the lid of the 7-way socket would be able to grab onto. So it's doesn't have a latch built into it that prevents it from staying in but generally these fit tight enough that it's not an issue.

  • Is The Pollak Metal 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector # PK12702 RV Standard or Traditional?
The back of the Pollak Metal 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector # PK12702 can be wired to either the traditional or RV standard wiring depending on what colors your trailer wiring uses. As you can see in the image all the functions are in the same location and the only difference is the colors of the wiring being used. As an example the 7-Way Wire # DW04914-1 we sell by the foot uses the RV standard wiring colors so it would follow that diagram. While many of the colors are used on both...

  • Wiring an In-Bed Northland Camper Using Camper and Truck Existing Wiring in a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500
My recommendation would be to determine how your camper is wired and install a RV-Style trailer 7-pole connector on your camper wiring. Then use your existing 7-pole connection at the rear bumper of your truck to install an in-bed connection point to supply power to your camper. To begin I suggest determining how your camper is currently wired. To do this you will have to apply 12 volt power to the lines that you have mentioned that are coming out of the camper in the front left corner...

The 7-Way trailer wiring sockets we have available such as the Pollak Metal # PK12703 referenced in your question do indeed feature the standard US pin configuration. I have attached an image that shows the pin locations and functions that you can use for reference. This is a 7-Way for the vehicle end. For the trailer end you will use # PK12702. Keep in mind though that the actual wire color used on both the vehicle and trailer can differ. Because of this it is always best to test the...

You definitely can hard wire the part # PK12703 plug to your Wrangler, we have the wire and can help you do it. • How Long Is the Pollak Metal 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector Part # PK12702
The Pollak Metal 7-Pole, RV-Style Trailer Connector part # PK12702 is 2-3/4" long from the face to the rubber boot on the back. This is currently the shortest trailer connector we offer so if you still do not have enough room you might want to consider moving the frame bracket for the weight distribution system just a bit. The frame brackets usually have a range that they can be installed in rather than a set point anyhow.

If you are having a hard time getting the connector wires from your trailer into the replacement 7-way that you have there are a couple things you can try. The first thing I would try would be to twist the end of the exposed wire until it will not twist anymore. This will make the wire as skinny as possible and give it the best chance at fitting in the slots. Or you could use ring terminals like our part # DW05705-1 to attach to the wire, and then attach the ring terminal to the 7-way....
