This wheel isn’t just about looks—it’s built to perform safely at highway speeds. Each unit meets Department of Transportation specifications, meaning it’s been tested to hold up under real driving conditions. The simple, clean design installs easily and delivers smooth rolling and predictable handling once mounted and torqued to spec (75–85 ft/lbs for 1/2" studs using coned lugs).
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today we're going to take a look at the Dexstar 13" X 4-1/2" White Spoke Steel Trailer Wheel with the four on four-inch bolt pattern. Now this is a nice sturdy steel construction, offers excellent corrosion resistance. It uses a white powder coat finish over an e-coat primer over the whole wheel. It is an eight-spoke design wheel. It is a high-quality wheel. It does meet the DOT Department of Transportation specifications, and the wheel is made in the USA.A few specs on this.
We're going to measure the diameter which is 13 inches. And the diameter when you measure it, it won't be edge-to-edge. It's actually inside-to-inside. So I'll show you if we put a ruler on that, you can see there's your 13-inch measurement inside-to-inside. And the same on the width, it's going to be inside-to-inside or bead seat-to-bead seat, that's where the tire seats on the wheel.
And see the inside-to-inside measure is 4-1/2 inches, or 13-inch diameter by 4-1/2 inches wide.The bolt pattern on this wheel is a four on four-inch bolt pattern. That's four lugs. The four-inch would be the measurement. On a wheel like this that's an even number of lugs, four lugs, it's pretty easy because the holes are right across from each other. So all you have to do is measure from the center of one hole directly across to the center of the hole right across from it.
So on this wheel, it'll measure four inches. So four-lug four-inch bolt pattern. Wheel lug size this uses is a half-inch by 20. Pilot hole diameter, which is the large hole here in the center wheel, goes over the hub on the trailer, the diameter of that opening is 2.65 inches. The rim seems to be well made from all outward appearances. The finish is excellent. It bolted up fine and is now my new trailer spare. I may buy another one though, and use my rusty rim as a spare since these look so nice.

The weather has improved and we can finally work on the trailer. We did an on line search for the best price and quality for parts to bring our trailer back to working order. We found the parts needed to replace old retired fenders, wheels, etc and the company we ordered from for the first order was etrailer. Super quick shipping and exactly what I ordered. Had a 13" radial mounted on this rim today and headed to the lake this weekend.
I purchased these wheels for my pop up camper. After shredding numerous 12” bias tires on an elk hunting trip I researched several options and decided to increase wheel size to 13” and at the same time, upgrade to radial tires. My hubs are 4 on 4” so my options were pretty limited as far as wheels go. These were exactly what I needed. They were nicely painted, well packaged and shipped quickly. The tire shop said they had no problems with mounting the tires and I had no tire/wheel problems on a couple long trips. I would highly recommend this MADE IN USA wheel.
Got these white spoke rims for my 1982 Scamp. Factory black rims were rusty so replaced them with new ones. Fit like a glove and look great! Installed a new set of etrailer tires on them so now I am ready to roll. Cant go wrong with these.

Rims and tires worked great. I did have them balanced before use. Have not had any problems with them. It was so smooth I could not even tell I was towing my Scamp. I would buy them again.

They have held up well. We did not use them for a trailer, we actually used them for a car. I wanted the wagon wheel style and this was the way to go to get it. I would recommend these for anyone.
